Review: Excellent book - I got the edition revised by some guy named Blackwell. I bought this book after reading it at the library. It arrived, but did not stay [due to my use and abuse], in excellent condition. The information is excellent and detailed. But I wish there was more. For example there is a comment about what I think is cisterns, but no detailed instructions on how to build one. A value tool to anyone who needs or wants DIY water and septic, could literally save you thousands of dollars, even if you don't Do it yourself. Review: Overall Systems Knowledge not so much a how to guide. - I learned a lot about various systems and their function from this book. Not exactly a how to build guide, lacks that much detail. Good insight on the basics of a reliable system, concerns, enough to give insight into planning. I was hoping to get a better feel for different construction costs along with plusses and minuses between systems. It did give enough operation info to better understand but not a shopping list or parts to tally up as costs.
