Finally a bedwetting alarm that works!!!
I have a 12 year old son that has never gone more than three days dry, but typically has had an accident everyday of his life, and we have spent the past six years trying everything under the sun to help him not have night time accidents. He hasn’t been allowed sugary drinks, even at family functions or when we go out, and nothing after seven while constantly monitoring his fluid intake in the morning to keep him hydrated. We would wake him up two separate times every night but his accidents were always random and we could never figure out times that would help. He even had to miss a week long school field trip that’s a really big deal in this area. He’s never been able to go to sleep overs. We’ve gone through three wet alarms over the years that he would either sleep through or he would remove in his sleep. We’ve set up reward systems for him that he really cares about in order to encourage him to want to try, but he would often get angry when he would have an accident and couldn’t the reward. We had taken him to several specialists that couldn’t give us any answer to why he was wetting the bed at night and would suggest the alarms that we would keep trying again and again. One specialist told me she had kids even at seventeen with bed wetting issues, which fed my fear he wouldn’t grow out of it. After a while you could see my son had given up and it was taking a toll on his sleep and his emotional state so we stopped with the alarms and just stocked up on ninjamas and triple protected his mattress (we go through like two a year because he leaks through his diapers every night regardless of brand and size). I was feeling like I was failing him, especially after him not going to Scicon. But then one day I came across this and decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. I purchased this November 15th. I followed the priming instructions with my son, slipped the alarm inside on of my panty liners and attached it to his diaper and left the base on my nightstand. This alarm is VERY loud and very sensitive. If my son went pee before bed and pulled his diaper up and even a drop would get on it, it goes off, but I don’t mind this because it help him recognize how to be careful. During the night when it goes off I would wake up thinking there’s a fire, and I’m a very deep sleeper as well and it would wake up everyone in our house. By day three my son was asking me not to wear the alarm because it was so annoying but I reminded him once again why we were trying it. I told him as long as he leaves the alarm on all night he can get video games (the reward for being dry), and that I don’t care if he has an accident in the morning as long as the alarm is left in place. I just wanted to try it out for six weeks and if it didn’t work I promised I would stop with the alarms. By day five we had a day dry, and by Dec 1 we started to see dry streaks. Since Dec 9 he has not had a single accident. We’ve let up all our restrictions and he has been able to just be a normal 12 year old boy and we’ve all been able to sleep through the night. We plan to continue using this alarm until mid January as long as the dry streak continues. What’s really special about this alarm is it is wireless so there’s no cords or buttons that he can switch or remove, and the way we place it inside a panty liner makes it hard for him to remove without tearing it open and us knowing. It’s loud and jarring enough I think it does a good job training the brain to wake up when he has to urinate. And the fact the base can be placed in our room ensures we wake up to make sure he’s getting up and going to the bathroom. It was pricer than the past alarms but I really feel like if you have an older child that struggles to go even one night dry this is the alarm you want. This has been the first time in years I haven’t had to worry about helping my son strip his bed and wash his sheets and scrub his mattress, about what he’s drinking and the time he’s drinking it, or wondering if I’m doing the right thing or causing more issues by trying to solve the bedwetting issue. That fear that he would be wetting the bed into adulthood and his quality of life being around hiding it is finally gone. You can already tell his self confidence has gotten better, he really knows he has control over this now. Best purchase I’ve made, would definitely recommend.

Quickly helped 12yr old & made in New Zealand!
Various attempts to help our 12 year old son stop bedwetting had proved fruitless, and we were getting a bit desperate. He is the classic deep sleeper - sleeping through all kinds of loud sounds and alarms - so I was a bit hesitant to get a "sound only" system. We've had some minimal success to him waking up to alarms set on his smartband that vibrates, so were initially looking for a combo sound/vibration alarm. Part of earlier failures was a lack of commitment on his part because he didn't like having things attached to his clothing, or wires running across his body. This wireless setup was extremely appealing. I narrowed it down to this and another wireless system that was a little cheaper and also had vibration. Decided to go with this one because it seemed higher quality and is manufactured in New Zealand vs. China. To me, that's worth the few extra bucks. We started the night of Jan.28 and it's now Feb. 16. Much to my shock, he woke immediately to the alarm, which is said to be a specific frequency that wakes even the deepest sleeper. The first week it went off once or twice every night. Then there was a night a he woke up for the first time in his 12yrs *just because he had to go to the bathroom*!! It's been 10 nights now since the alarm went off at all. He either stays dry all night, or wakes up to use the toilet part way through. We'll still keep at it for a couple more weeks just to make sure it's solid, but I'm thrilled with this product. It was not a concern for me, but I would definitely recommend getting the dual parent pack (one sensor, two alarm bases) if you're at all concerned you won't hear the alarm going off in your child's room. Also, make sure you watch the demo video on placing the sensor. For reference, we decided to still use his Goodnites. Cut a tiny shallow slit in the upper mesh layer and used a finger to gently separate the upper layer from the absorbant layer below, creating a pocket just large enough for the sensor. We did have to experiment with placement, as the first attempts we were inserting too low and he would urinate a significant amount before it reached the sensor to trigger alarm. This device is compact, easy to use, and effective. If there are any changes, I will update, but as of now I'd say this is a solid, awesome buy!

Very disappointed...
Very disappointing to spend $100.00 and have this product not work. We have followed the directions to a "T". I am writing this review, not to bash the product, but to aide other parents that are considering the same purchase. I read a ton of reviews trying to decide which monitor would be best. The reviews were very mixed and therefore I ended up picking this one with no real certainty. The alarm works great and sounds loudly, however it has yet to do this when my son wets his bed. It only alarms once we are taking it out of his soaking wet underpants in the morning. Very Frustrating!

False alarms are mind numbing
It is not accurate for my son. At least twice a night it false alarms, sometimes more. We have tried three different application methods trying to trouble shoot. 2 different thicknesses of pads and slipping it straight in the front pocket of his underwear with a safety pin, below, keeping it in place. I’m exhausted. I can only assume he’s sweating in his sleep causing the false alarms. It’s wonderful at waking me up 3 rooms away but he’s still able to sleep through it sometimes. He has shown progress that when he has actually started to pee it wakes him and he stops and gets up but false alarms are enough to have this entire his mental from the additional lack of sleep and fighting to get up to try to go to the bathroom. I so desperately wanted this to work. We’ve also lost the sensor now twice a reverse alarm would be very helpful to trigger from the receiver to locate it when it’s lost in your home. 10 year old with autism. Very hard sleeper but also very stubborn our delay in waking up dry is a combination of sleeping through the urge and finding the willingness to leave bed when tired and comfortable.

Worked wonderfully
We have used this on 2 children so far. 1 boy and 1 girl and will be using this on a 3rd child soon as well. Our girl was much quicker to learn than our boy but he also has aspergers and he sleeps very hard. Took our boy 8 weeks and he's been dry every since. Our girl has been 5 weeks. We used good nights, made a slit in the material and wrapped the sensor in a sheet of toilet paper and inserted it into the slit making sure it was placed correctly. Only a few times have we had it go off for now apparent reason. It's loud and is very quick in sensing moisture. Great product

Best Alarm on the Market
This is the absolute best alarm on the market. We tried the mat - the one with the subscription - it is not effective (went off when she was sweaty, hard to get dry to reset, the urine takes longer to trigger alarm) and a money grab. This one: easy to set up, alarm is loud, wetness immediately triggers alarm and helps the child stop flow, compact, simple to clean, great support from manufacturer. After 3 nights in a row of triggering the alarm, my 8yo has gone from nightly accidents to 2 in 7 days. (And both of those days she played soccer in 85 degree weather before bed and drank a ton of water, so we expected the accident.) We are hopeful that in a few weeks she will be done with bedwetting completely! PS: Our system… we bought a pack of cheap underwear, cut a slit in the top layer of the lower area, wrapped the sensor in toilet paper, inserted it in between the layers.

Good product!
I was nervous about starting this journey because I didn’t know where to start! My son just started about a week ago, so we are still getting up multiple times through the night when the alarm goes off. But wanted to write a review of the product itself, and how it works. We have been sliding the sensor into a panty liner that has been cut in half. You can then put the panty liner in a pull-up or pair of underwear. We then place the alarm right next to his bed. We placed a baby monitor in his room so I can also hear the alarm. So far the sensor has been working seamlessly. It’s easy to clean off and dry and goes off even with the slightest bit of moisture. I like that it is wireless, and the alarm is LOUD (although my son still doesn’t wake up sometimes since he is a deep sleeper) overall, happy with the product!

Great product, wonderful customer service!!! - REVISED
I wanted to revise my review below...perhaps someone else is having the same difficulities. The alarm was sporatically not registering when my son was wet. We were hoping this was due to nightlights or something of the sort, but we have not been able to work out why. Most nights it would work well, and then there would be a few night in a row that the alarm would not go off. (no changes to the room or surroundings) We were very disappointed, but we had to go with a wired alarm. Hopefully this will be more consistant. The wire is annoying, so i do wish this had worked better. We're trying it now for our daugher, and just today she woke up wet and no alarm. :-( --------------------------------------- My son has been using the alarm for about 2 months now and we've seen a great deal of improvement for him!!! Although he hasn't kicked the problem all together yet, I'm confident that this alarm will help him get over it faster than just letting him grow out of it. At the beginning, the alarm was only waking my husband and I (which is the idea of the alarm) and we would go in and wake him and get everything changed. But now he's waking up, sometimes after just a drop hits the sensor and there is barely any cleanup required. He's had quite a few dry nights and he's completely waking to the alarm himself at this point. The wireless remote is fabulous!!! I believe it gives him more confidence by not calling attention to the fact that he's wearing a sensor. I sewed a small pouch on the inside of his underwear out of an old t-shirt and we wrap the sensor in a half of a tissue so it absorbs faster. This was a recommendation by the company after I called. There were some nights when the sensor would not go off, I started wrapping it in the tissue and removed all nightlights from his room, again, as recommended by the company and we've had success ever since. The customer service was amazing! The owner e-mailed me directly and we discussed the problem and she had a few recommendations and even checked up on us to see how it was going! FABULOUS! They really CARE whether their product is helping!!! We also bought a book called "Prince Bravery and Grace: Attack of the Wet Knights". I am SO glad we did! Our son was a little nervous about starting the alarm, so we simply handed him the book and asked him to go ahead and read it on his own. After he was done reading the book, he was EXCITED to start his own attack on the Wet Knights!!!!

It actually works!
I rarely write reviews but I am so thrilled with the results of this alarm that I wanted to share our experience to hopefully help other families. When my son turned 9 and was still wet every night (never had a dry night) I was starting to worry that it would never happen. I kept waiting and hoping for the magical hormone I’d read about to kick in.... I had heard about bed wetting alarms but from my limited understanding of them, I associated them with the saying about the horse bolting and the stable door! It wasn’t until I heard of a friend using it with her daughter and the success they had, that I decided to give it a try. I only wish I had researched it more thoroughly sooner because it worked for my son after 12 nights. At bed time we practised what he needed to do when the alarm went off. We also had a mantra about where he wees and where he doesn’t wee! We cut a small slit in his pull up and wrapped the sensor in a sheet of toilet paper and inserted it into the pull up. The first few nights were hard - the alarm went off 4 times in the early days, it was like having a newborn again! The alarm is loud, I was worried it might disturb the entire house, but surprisingly it didn’t - I guess it depends on how deeply everyone sleeps. I knew my son was a heavy sleeper, but I couldn’t believe that on some occasions he would not even stir when this alarm was going off right next to him! The idea is that they have to turn the alarm off themselves so I’m there next to his bed calling his name! He’d then eventually turn it off and while usually he would then, bleary eye-ed, get up and do what he needed to do, there were also a couple of times he’d roll over and go back to sleep. Fortunately I was standing there to ensure that this didn’t often happen! Each night we noted down the times that the alarm would go off. This helped because the next morning it was hard to recall the nighttime activities. It also meant we could see progress. The first few nights, it would go off 3 or 4 times, then twice or once a night, and finally by the 12th night - not at all! We were delighted, my son in particular was so proud of himself. After a week or so with the alarm not going off, we stopped using it. It’s been 6 weeks now with no accidents. He either wakes up to go the toilet or he holds on until the morning. One thing I would say is to be consistent and to have faith. Those initial nights were hard and I wanted a crystal ball to tell me it would be worth it in the end. Don’t give up, your child WILL get there but consistency is important. I had no idea that the brain and bladder connection was so important. This is by far the best £100 I have ever spent!

Works as advertised
From the reviews it looked like a hit or miss. Still bought this instead of much cheaper options because there are no cables and the sensors reasonably small. And that does make a huge difference IMO. After some 10 days of use no false or missed alarms. Really working great so far.

6 stelle
