Quality soft pastels
Beautiful, rich colors and very soft yet don’t crumble easily. Bought a second set of darks for nocturnal paintings and am equally happy with those. In general Jack Richardson put out quality painting mediums.

LIKE BUTTER! Top quality pastels
This was my first purchase of soft pastels and I LOVE THEM. I use them in combo with some MUNGO pastels for background filling. These were recommended by my pastel teacher and they are excellent. These soft pastels are pretty expensive so do your homework as to how they're made. You don't have to buy the top of the line to get excellent results. Ive been painting in acrylic, watercolor, charcoal and decided to try out this new medium ... it's awesome. If you are doing portraiture in soft pastels get the pan pastels...they are the Cadillac of pastels. Soooo fun.

Intensity of Pigments & choice of colors...
Haven't used this yet, but see it is another $10.00 less than what I paid! Was disappointed to see how small each piece is however I will post my Review, once I try them out...

A rip off
I couldn’t believe how deceiving the picture on the Amazon site is, these things are tiny, not at all what I see artists using in videos promoting Paul Rubens pastels, but that doesn’t make them any less expensive. I’m very disappointed

My Wife is a fine artist and she loves the feel, colours of the Jack Richeson soft pastels. These are one of the best. Expensive, yes. Quality, yes.

Beautiful soft pastels and so easy to use.

These pastels are fast becoming my favourite. The selection of colours is excellent - some landscape sets of other brands have some strange colours but in this set every colour is useful and relevant to landscape painting. I noticed the set has gone up $19 in two weeks. I paid $150 AUD for them. Inflation is outrageous at the moment. Nevertheless I’m very happy with the brilliant quality of these pastels.

I found the pastels to be extremely soft and some of them even crumbled without barely any pressure being applied.
