My original DS4 controllers had very weak batteries, lasting only about 60-90 minutes or less. With the DS4 out of production, I thought it was worth a shot to try new batteries. Opening the controllers is a bit of a hassle but once you learn the process it's actually not very difficult. I recommend also having a pick shaped pry tool to pry off the shoulder buttons. This battery kit is very good, the screwdriver is of surprisingly high quality with a solid handle and was helpful in unscrewing the back of the controller. The pry tool is also very helpful for unclipping the shell clips. The battery itself also comes with 2 different connectors for the different DS4 revisions. The extra wire does not get in the way, the battery fits well and the shell closes cleanly. From some limited testing, the battery life is noticeably better than the oem DS4. I would get maybe 5-6 hours on a brand new DS4 and over time usually 3-4 hours after moderate use. These get around 7 hours or more from my tests. They also charge fairly quickly, probably around 90 minutes. After charging, one of them lost a charge instantly so I was concerned. After another full charge it has been working well and holding a charge so maybe there was some minor glitch with the charging chip in the controller. I will continue testing but overall highly recommended kit. I am very pleased to have solidly working oem DS4 controllers again. Also recommend giving your DS4 a nice clean while it's open.

These have a double pigtail connector to accommodate different controller gens. These were easy to install and held a great charge. I don't have my controller or PS4 anymore but I strongly recommend these if your battery is crap.

These batteries have two possible connection types; one for the old dualshock version and one for the new version, I have one of each. The new version dualshock is working great and has good battery life. The old version isn't faring as well, the battery only lasts a couple of hours and I've been experiencing some odd behavior out of the thumbsticks. Before swapping out the batteries, my controllers were working perfectly but the battery life was suffering, just due to age. Overall, if you have the new ds4 version, I would absolutely recommend these batteries, but not the old version. You can easily tell the difference by looking at the lightbar, you can see a sliver of the light through the TouchPad on the new version. There is also a difference in the numbers on the back of the controller, that can be easily looked up in a web search.

Works great and also comes with a decent tools to replace battery. I highly recommend this. My controllers are holding charge like when they were brand new 😎

This is a perfect kit for replacing the batteries in a PS4 controller. It has no instructions, but I had instructions on Youtube. It has two plug ins connected to the battery so that no matter the size of the plug in on your controller, there is one that will fit. I would buy this again. The only thing I had an issue with was the spatula-like tool that you use to pop open the controller. One side broke off the tool so I only have one side for any future fixes. Otherwise, this is a wonderful, helpful product. It really helped get rid of a problem that was driving us crazy. Now we have controllers that will hold a charge.

After 6 months use, these batteries die very quickly. They were great for about 4 months but the last 2 months, the lifespan has gotten much shorter. They currently die after about an hour of using them.
