Does it have probe compensation contacts? On pictures they look like missing?

My DS1102 has contacts at the bottom right corner providing a 5 volt square wave for probe compensation adjustment. Don't forget to use the plastic screwdriver provided rather than a metal one.

Is there a firmware update to allow more options for probe attenuation?

Not at this time, probe attenuation is settable at X1, X10, X100, X1000 which corresponds to most available probes. See your manual, (How to set the probe attenuation coefficient). Hope this helps.

I want to measure the frequency of a stroboscopic light device. The device can strobe from .0hz to 200hz. Is this the right oscilloscope for the job?

Yes it will definitely allow you to measure such low frequencies, but you can buy cheaper handheld ones if that's all you need it for. This oscilloscope is quite a bit more advanced and allows for a wide range of measurments in two separate channels.

Does it really have "Messure" button instead of Measure ?

No, my Scope has Measure on the button. It is a good scope for the price.!!!
