Call Me Russell: Inside the Outside Review: Great! - Awesome book, really different style of writing by Russell & his brother. It was funny, yet interesting to read about his own path to 'fame' that he paved himself. A must-have, different kind of biography book that everyone from every race will enjoy and be able to relate to. Review: Fun if you love Russell - This was a fun book for a big fan of Russell Peters but would probably not be so interesting if you are not familiar with his comedy.

Stick to standup, please
Disappointing. Sort of mundane. His standup comedy is outstanding, however.

Excellent Fun read, introduction to the life behind comedy
What is it like to to pursue a career as a comedian? The book is a great backstage pass into the life and thought process Russel Peters, but also behind comedians in general. It is often funny and witty, as can be expected from the man whose life it reveals. Absolutely loved it. Quick fun read. Through this book you will learn about Russel's life and the steps and effort that brought him to become the world-known comedian he has become. The narrative is often humurous, with such recollections as Russel's father's early career advice: to read more jokes such as knock-knock and chicken crossed the road. Equally fascinating is the backstage introduction through the life of a comedian. Before Russel's worldwide success he went through the long road of development of a comedian, starting with the comedy circuit in Canada, which is often tough. The early jokes were not always successful, and even the later shows posed challenges as Russel's newfound fame meant that his older skits were on DVD, and he had the challenge of quickly refreshing himself for his live shows. I strongly recommend it. One of the more interesting autobiographies out there. A very light quick read.

The man behind all the humour and the funny accents and the truly hilarious impressions. This book is Russell Peter's life given in black and white. The challenges he faced, his parents faced, his brother faced... and his struggle in becoming a fantastic comedian.. If you're a Russell Peters fan, you must read this book. It only covers the period before 2010, so I suppose he needs to update it now.
