I love the STP album

Excellent album. The whole thing is good.

Vinyl record is excellent sounds just perfect. STP with Weiland is always a banger!

Definitely one of my favorite STP albums. The album cover arrived a bit banged up, hence the four stars, but the record plays great.

I purchased the vinyl since I've had this CD since the day it was released. Sometimes the record sounds better to me than the CD, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes I don't hear any difference whatsoever. This vinyl sounds absolutely amazing and blows my old CD out of town. I was in audio ecstasy and felt like I was hearing the album for the first time. There was so much I had never really heard before coming through my headphones, it is also whisper quiet throughout and the black and white splatter is pretty cool looking too. So happy! lol This came out when I was nearing the end of college and don't really understand the supposed low level of love for the album mentioned in some reviews here. It seemed enormously popular at the time with tons of airplay and a huge tour. No. 4 is one of my favorite albums from that time period, sounding like a return to form after the strange vocals of Tiny Music, an album I skipped at the time, but soon came to enjoy.

Amazingly, this album was released in 1999, after grunge had come and gone and was replaced by boybands, rap and hip-hop. But it is Grungy, with a capital "G". Most of the tracks are good and dark. The exceptions only make these more apparent. "Sour Girl" and "I Got You" are definitely more in the pop area, with Beatle-inspired lines. "Glide" soars a little into the psychedelic. The last track, "Atlanta", could have been a Doors song, lyrically and musically. The rest are all needle-in-the-arm, glorious grunge. And it's all good. Actually, the album is worth the price for just the first and last tracks. "Down" is STP at their grungiest, and "Atlanta" is one of the most real and touching rock ballads I have ever heard. Too often STP has been dismissed as a "pop" band, undeserving of the respect given to Nirvana and Pearl Jam. But let's face it. Any band that achieves commercial success is a pop band. As Scott Weiland once said (I'm paraphrasing something I read), "The Beatles were a pop band, so what's wrong with that?" I agree, Scott. I totally agree.

Disque comme neuf.

Schneeweiß, planes, Vinyl ohne große Nebengeräusche. Viele "beschweren" sich über den Klang, aber dieser entspricht der CD, die ich ebenfalls besitze. Wunder kann also auch das Label Music on vinyl nicht vollbringen, das Album wurde einfach so aufgenommen. Klingt aber immer noch besser, als viele Loudnesswar-Produktionen ab 2000.

Chegou em perfeitas condições e com capa protetora. Fiz o pedido dia 9/03 cpm previsão de entrega dia 25/04 porém chegou bem antes, no dia 24/03!

Uno de los mejores discos de los STP:Directo, más rápido, más punk, y con la fuerza que caracterizaba a la banda en directo. Dentro del alma más Grunge de la banda se esconden hermosas baladas como Atlanta, I Got You o el single Sour Girl. La versión que me ha llegado Ami al menos, el la que tiene la estrella recortada en la portada con la funda blanca, que es aún más bonita. Fantástica compra.
