Recently I broke my wrist while running (llama and snake incident). I was able to hike back to the trailhead with my wrist up in the air, then drive home, then screamed out what I needed to my husband who grabbed a SAM splint from my hiking pack, fashioned it to give stability plus pulled out a sling, and only then we could think about acetaminophen, calling the doctor, getting a bag of ice. I keep one of these in each of my hiking packs, never thought I'd need one while running, and I couldn't have folded it myself as I was in such pain, but it's still better to have one than not. These things are so versatile, and SO sturdy.

Thank goodness I haven’t had to use this splint yet, but I know how they work, and this is a quality brand — so I have no doubt it will perform exactly as it should. I keep one in my bug-out bag and another in my prepping cabinet. Living in a very rural area, it’s important to be prepared for any kind of accident since I’m quite a distance from an emergency room. Having gear like this just makes good common sense. This is definitely one of those items that belongs in every first aid kit or bug-out bag.

This splint works great and if you keep with with your medical kit it is super convenient. I have used it twice at soccer games... The first time a girl feel with a lot of wrist pain we built a splint with an ace bandage to stabilize the wrist. This did wonders until she could be seen at a local ER. The second time very similar with a boy who had hit is arm earlier and it really started to bother him. After going to the ER the doctor said the splint was perfect and left it in place after determining the pain was nothing broken. One does need to use care if they trim the splint as we have done for younger kids as the trimmed end has sharp aluminum. Simply folding it over twice takes care of the issue. Overall great product right there when we have needed it.

Excelente producto, se ve como en la foto y llego en buen estado, muy buena calidad. Sirve para traerlo en el carro, cuando paseas en bici, moto entre otras, siempre hay accidentes y esto te saca de apuros cuando no tienes al alcance un hospital.

Habe den Splint während meines Feuerwehrsani-Lehrgangs kennen und schätzen gelernt. Es ist zwar ein theoretisch idiotendicheres Werkzeug, man sollte sich aber zumindest mal Tips bei Profis geholt haben. Gerade für Menschen die viel und abgelegen unterwegs sind, sollte es mitgeführt werden.

La férula es de muy buena calidad. Para que cupiera en un botiquín pequeño (camping), doblé la férula en un rectángulo en lugar de dejarla enrollada. En un botiquín “táctico” entra perfecto.
