This knife is very sharp and ReSharper with ease. I use it for detailed hand carving and it works beautifully. Care must be taken, it is very sharp.

I got this for my husband for Christmas. To be honest, the way it was packaged had me questioning the quality, but It’s very well crafted and sturdy. The quality of this knife would be better suited in a velvet lined box rather than cheap plastic. It was one of his favorite gifts this year.

Any kiridashi blade is going to be cooler than western utility knives, so you can't go wrong right out of the gate. I do have to admit that this one didn't come as razor sharp as I expected, but it certainly is sharp enough to be useful (and I expected to sharpen and maintain it anyway, so it didn't really matter to me). I'm not fond of how pell-mell the maker's notches in the sheath seem (two chunks cut out of the wood to help orient how you sheathe it). But I do like how readily the wood can be shaped and finished. I decided to stain and seal mine after smoothing the rather sharp factory edges of the sheath. It was a fun little short project. All in all, I'll probably end up getting another one of these.

I use this for carving gourmet ice for drinks. It’s incredibly sharp and has the one sided edge needed for ice carving. I redesigned the wood (handle & sheath) for a better look.

It cut through hardwood like butter. Exactly the knife I needed for shaping a saya. Bought a left handed version for a good friend of mine that does alot of wood working.

I did not like the applied decal logo.

This thing is awesome. Pros: Super sharp out of the box. Immediately turned a sheet of paper into confetti! Fits nicely in the hand. Light enough to put in a workshop apron. Cons - handle is a bit more snug than anticipated and doesn't quite seal at the holster when closed. (1mm gap) Love this knife and it's already been put to work as a marking tool. For the money, you can't go wrong.

I bought it thinking the Japanese characters written on the handle were permanent, but the characters are on a plastic film that is easily removed. Excellent product otherwise. Since I don't know what it says, maybe a dumb motivation in the first place!
