Great knife
Great for slicing all sorts of foods from crusty boules to tomatoes. The knife is nicely balanced. The handle is a little thicker than I thought it would be, but it helps with grip and is very comfortable. Works better than my much more expensive knife. The knife is dishwasher safe, but I’ve only put it through one lazy time. It’s easy to safely hand clean and I want to preserve the blade because it’s so nice to use.

Wow - THIS is a bread knife.
If you want to slice hard, crusty, artisan bread, buy this knife. It has a solid, sharp, long, hefty and well-balanced blade. Made short work, but very nice even slices out of my very crusty sourdough bread. I returned the highly-rated and severely underpowered electric knife I bought and got this one. So glad I did. Worth every penny.

Super sharp bread knife
Had a twenty year old bread knife that started cutting less effectively (shocking, right?). Replaced it with this one, and all I can really say is, wow. This thing is so sharp that it constantly provides quick, and clean slicing. I didn't realize just how badly the older knife was until I used this. It can handle larger, crusty bread just as easily as softer things like rolls and bagels. If you like making your own bread, this knife is a must. If you like clean, even slices, this knife is a must. If you are tired of bagel guillotines or other kitchen gadgets, and just want a nice, sliced bagel for toasting, this knife is a must. The handle is great, with enough texture and grip that slippage is not a concern. Its length means it can easily go through artisan breads, particularly boules. No regrets whatsoever...except, wow, it is sharp. I used to be able to cut through a bagel in my hand without any concerns (maybe not the safest way to cut a bagel), but this knife, not so much. Lets just say it cuts through human skin with the same ease that it cuts through bread, but that is on the cook, not the cook's tool :)

Sharp, "feel good" bread knife!
I recently started baking sourdough bread whose crust is very difficult to cut through. I had been using the long, serrated knife from my Miracle Blade set, however, the blade would drag. I found an article that said the spaces on the serrated edge needed to be wider to be able to grip onto the crust. I believe America's Test Kitchen recommended the Mercer Culinary Bread knife. The price was right so I took a chance. I'm so glad I did - what a difference! The blade grabs onto the crust and cuts through the loaf with much less effort. I read several reviews about the blade being very sharp so I wear a kevlar glove on my non-dominant hand just to be safe when slicing. The handle is also textured so you feel confident you have a good grip. Also a nice touch, the knife handle comes in different colors. I would highly recommend this knife especially if you are new to sourdough bread making.

Great knife
Love this knife. Got it because new bakery went into neighborhood and they make very crusty bread. None of our knives worked well at all. This knife filled the bill. Did read other reviews and have been very careful not to get cut.

Perfect size knife
I love the length of this knife, and the sharpness. My other bread knife, an offbrand was like a chainsaw going through bread. This knife slices very nicely, but does have an inward angle as you slice through anything. So, you’ve got to train your hand to tilt outward a little bit, as you’re slicing, in order to get a straight slice.

Great bread knife!
First heard about this knife on Americas Test Kitchen on PBS, & it’s as excellent as they advertised. Blade is extremely sharp, easy to use, clean, store, well balanced in your hand, great value & price.

Realmente la relación costo beneficio es muy buen. El filo que tiene es impresionante, se debe manejar con mucho cuidado. Además de lo para cortar pan, también lo utilizo para quitar la cáscara a las frutas.

Cuts through sourdough bread very well. Happy with its performance. If it comes with a sheath cover, it would be perfect.

This blade is sharp....not just knife sharp....like lightsabre sharp. Works great and has kept its edge for over 3 years now.
