Absolute Tank Protection and a Great Look
The OTTERBOX Defender Case for iPhone 6 PLUS/6s Plus is the only case I trust to protect my phone, and it has saved me from countless drops. If you need maximum, heavy-duty security for your device, stop scrolling and buy this case immediately. The level of protection is unparalleled. It provides multiple layers: an inner solid shell, an outer durable slipcover, and a built-in screen protector (for those older models), all working together to shield the phone from drops, dust, and scratches. It's bulky, yes, but that bulk translates directly into absolute peace of mind. I've dropped my phone on concrete, tile, and asphalt, and every time, the phone has emerged completely unscathed. The Glacier (White/Gunmetal Grey) color is fantastic—it looks clean, professional, and easily stands out from the sea of black cases. The design is engineered flawlessly; all ports and buttons are protected by covers, yet they remain fully accessible and responsive.

Tough. I don’t walk around like others with cracked screens.
This OtterBox defender iPhone 6s Plus case is much like a super tough case I had from my previous phone which was a Samsung. It features a hard cover face over the screen and the surrounding hard rubberized case about the remainder of the phone. There is an inner shell which is totally rubberized which makes for three total parts. When the phone is fully closed in the case it is easily departed and usable by a simple thumb pull at one point. The belt clip is very sturdy and reliable much like my previous case that I own for three years I had no problems and I learn to trust it. Well in most cases if I was unsure I just threw it in my backpack. And the great thing about this case is I just stored in my backpack or wherever and I don’t have to worry about the screen or anything else. That being said the care should be taken with the lens. But I have never had problems. I purchased a corning made screen protector made for this OtterBox but it was just too insensitive and I had to remove it thankfully it came off really easily. You will see them for sale like we at the OtterBox sites or retailer. It’s not waterproof but it does offer some water resistance because the phone is not Line flat let’s say on a table it is raised above it some white also if the phone is lying on his face without the Face protector on there is an approximate 3/32 of an inch gap between the screen and the rubberized edge which again gives it some moisture protection in the event of a spill on a table. The phone mounts at three points, Two at the bottom corners and one at the top center where the release is located. It is easily released with one thumb but not really prone to being undone accidentally. However it can happen. That’s why when I am out walking I walk with my shirt out and over my phone so I don’t hit it. But I ride my bike sometimes without my backpack and at that point I don’t have any problems because my arms and my hands are on the handlebars and I don’t worry about it and since My arms and hands are focused on my handlebars there’s not an issue. I’m glad I spent the extra money to get to the defender model. VERY IMPORTANT! Do not buy a USB to lightning charging cable with an elbow that plugs into the phone. From what I’ve read. 99% will not work on the OtterBox cases. I came within five seconds of purchasing one last night and happened to read the fine print and did not buy it. Then I looked around Amazon and found some others gave the same warning. I haven’t checked at OtterBox but maybe they have a solution. The case at first is somewhat difficult to disassemble because it’s new. But after the second and third time it became much more pliable and the rubber became more pliable and now it seems not to be a problem but I can’t imagine taking it apart again. Don’t be afraid of it just follow the directions I don’t think you’re going to break anything.

Why I chose this case
At the beginning, I was thrilled by so many cases available in the market, I was confused which one to buy. I struggled between the beauty and functionality. I am a woman, of course, I would like a stylish, slim case, but I am a mom with a 4 years old, too. I know the chance to drop an expensive phone either by me or by my baby will be significantly high. I watched some iPhone drop test in YouTube and knew the iPhone (any series) is very vulnerable to a front face drop, a side drop might survive, but a front face drop on a waist high will shutter the screen for sure. The only possible protection for the front glass, at least for my understanding, is to avoid the phone glass contact the drop surface directly. A tempered glass may protect somewhat, but remember, iPhone's original gorilla glass is supposed to harder than tempered glass. If the force from contacting the surface is too strong, both tempered glass and gorilla glass will be shuttered together because they are still glasses. So I decided to buy a case with a front protection. I researched some brands, then focused on otterbox defender and new trent trentium. They both provide 360 protection for the phone. The latter looks even more sleek and cleaner. However, the defender comes with a holster, which will provide more protection for the front, also, it could be used a kickstand when watching video or clip to the belt for my husband. Finally I decided to go with otterbox defender. I've just put it on, not sure if it will hold well in the long run, let's see. The only one issue is that I have installed a tempered glass, when I installed the defender's front case, it caused the front screen to leave a small gap above the tempered glass, The screen does not respond as sensitive as before. So I did what other people do: pop up the front plastic protector, clean with go gone, install the front frame on top of tempered glass. I know, this way, the dust will go in the phone a little, it might void the warranty. But it is the only way to fit. All the available front protection case is using a thick plastic cover, I guess using tempered glass will increase the manufacturing cost, so if you still believe the tempered glass is better than a film, then, you will need to do this. The iPhone 6s Plus is a little heavy, hehe, with its case, adding the holster, the phone really weights like a brick. But it is a trade off a peace of mind. My 4 years daughter picked up the phone and immediately put it down, she said it was too heavy to hold. That is really what I want her to do: DO NOT touch my phone. See, the extra weight provides an amazing benefit. A truly good quality product will last long and deliver what it promises. Let the time call the result. Hope I will remember to write another review after several months usage. Thank you for reading.

Great Overall Protection, But Screen Protector Limits Touch Sensitivity and Touch ID sensor
I've had numerous cases for my various Apple products and especially for my iPhones, from the slimmest to the most bulky. As I find I'm increasingly handing over my iPhone 6 Plus to my toddler sometimes, I decided to buy what I've researched to be one of the most reputable cases out there--this OtterBox Defender. I've also used the Griffin Survivor cases as well as had experience with the LifeProof Fre. The Survivor's okay but my toddler's a drooler and more often than not his drool ends up getting into the case between the screen cover and the screen. It ended up being a pain to constantly take apart the Survivor case to wipe off the wetness. The LifeProof Fre, while waterproof, is more expensive and was a bit of an overkill for protection for my needs. This Otterbox Defender fits right in between, not too much and not too little. And I really like the rubbery feel of the outside of the case--very grippy and easy to hold on to. All the ports are accessible, and the buttons that cover the volume and on/off controls work fine. The screen protector is nearly invisible and can be wiped clean easily. The case is pretty indestructible. My iPhone has been dropped unintentionally as well as thrown down intentionally onto concrete and other very hard surfaces many many many times...still doesn't have a scratch, dent, crack, nothing! The iPhone is still like brand-new. So is the case itself. I usually sell or trade in my iPhones when I'm ready to upgrade so I want to keep this iPhone ready in its like brand new condition for my next upgrade cycle, or keep it for my kids to use, or as a backup phone. This Otterbox Defender will certainly keep it brand new. It is like armor! But now for the negatives. The screen protector, while nearly invisible, interferes too much with touch sensitivity. I have used many cases without a screen protector and well, obviously you just can't beat having nothing between the screen and your fingertips when it comes to touch sensitivity. I find myself having to press a little bit harder for my touch to register sometimes, especially towards the edges of the screen. It is annoying, but I figure that it's a price to pay for the extra protection. Also, and this is the most annoying negative--the fingerprint sensor is not reliable at all. As part of the protection there is a clear cover over the home button, supposedly so the Touch ID can still be used. But I constantly have to re-enter my fingerprints for it to work. It goes in cycles--I'll input my fingerprints, it will work for a few days (a week if I'm lucky), then it will stop recognizing my fingerprints and I'll have to repeat the process. Honestly I just end up using the passcode instead. But I really miss the convenience of the Touch ID not just to bypass having to enter the passcode, but also for accessing bank apps and other apps instead of having to type in passwords. Again, I just view it as a price to pay for the good overall protection the Otterbox Defender offers. I gave this a 4/5 stars because the Otterbox Defender does the job--it seriously protects my iPhone from the worst drops and toddler tantrums. But it doesn't deserve a full 5/5 stars because of the touch sensitivity and Touch ID limitations set by the screen protector.

Excellent Cover - Protects Mobile Telephone Very Well
I have gone through three of these OtterBox Defender cases with the same iPhone. I swear by the OtterBox Defender. The reason I have gone through three is that I keep putting my iPhone in a large sweatshirt pocket with tools that end up scratching the OtterBox screen cover. The OtterBox covers take the beating and my iPhone still looks brand new (like I just took the iPhone out of the box). From the day I got the iPhone it has never been outside of an OtterBox Defender case (unless I was changing the case or cleaning the case/iPhone). Over the years my iPhone has been subjected to “abuse” (e.g. dropping, falling out of pockets into equipment/machinery, other rough handling, etc.). Since the iPhone has always been in an OtterBox Defender case the case has taken the beating and the iPhone has been, and remains, in perfect condition. I will use an OtterBox Defender case with any mobile device I use in the future. I even gave an old OtterBox Defender case I used for years with an iPhone 5 to a colleague who has a newer iPhone that uses the same size case (my colleague is not as “particular” about condition of the OtterBox case – read: my colleague is too cheap to buy a new case of his own – and he is using it to this day, after years of protecting my iPhone 5). I had “preached” the benefits of using an OtterBox Defender case to this colleague who poo-pooed the idea until his young kids shattered his iPhone’s screen. I even received compliments when I had to take my iPhone to the Apple Store for a battery replacement. The technician could not believe that my older iPhone looked brand-new. OtterBox Defender cases are worth every penny.

Top protection for your phone
I have an iPhone 6 plus and I tend to carry my phone everywhere. Working out, doing yard work, etc, and I tend to drop my phone a lot. Now the plus has a huge glass screen which can be expensive to replace so I checked around and the Otterbox case came up a lot when max protection was the main requirement. I purchased one about 4 years ago and it has done a fantastic job of protecting my phone. After numerous drops, dirty hands and other daily mishaps the phone still looks brand new when out of the case. After 4 years the charger flap started to go so I ordered this indigo case to replace it. So far it has been working great just like the original one I bought and I think it looks better (indigo compared to the original all black one). A few months back I was working out and I dropped the phone from about waist high and it landed on the corner of the metal weight machine leg. The screen hit it dead center and I thought for sure I had cracked the screen. I picked it up, took a look and there was a big dent in the otterbox clear screen protector but the glass screen was crack/scratch free. The only down side is the case is very bulky and wont easily fit in your pocket. But I bought it for its protective function and the iPhone 6 plus is already a large phone so it does not bother me at all. Plus the clip on case holder is very well made and clips on to your belt or waist band and holds the phone very securely.

Otterbox vs. cars....and Otterbox wins!! Best cellphone case ever. Stands up to MOVING VEHICLES
Everyone! Please. Stop looking for the best iPhone case. Your search ends here. This JUST happened about 20 minutes ago, and I rushed home to post this review. My husband has an iPhone 6s+ and he's not very gentle with his phone. We bought him this case hoping it would protect the phone in the inevitable drops and fumbles. Which it has done. Which we expected it to do. But tonight was a different story. My husband accidentally left the phone on top of his car and drove off. I know, I know. We pretty much kissed the phone goodbye. There was no way it would survive. We drove the neighborhood looking for it, and there, in the MIDDLE of a very busy intersection, was his phone. It had fallen off his car at about 30 miles per hour and was RUN OVER repeatedly by other vehicles. And you know what? THE PHONE IS FLAWLESS. It not only works perfectly, but there is not a single scratch on it. Not ONE. And the screen is not even scratched much less cracked. I'm not exaggerating. The phone looks perfect. The case didn't even crack! It held up to a high-speed fall and multiple cars running over it. Granted, the case is now a bit buckled and so we do need to replace it, but I will happily buy another one of these. Hands down. I've included some photos for you guys to see. In one, look closely. You can see the tire tread all along the back of the Otterbox case. My husband and I are still in shock. For a cellphone case to not just protect the phone from a minor drop but a full-on vehicle assault is incredible. Just buy this case. Less than $30 just saved us from spending $700+ to replace a phone. BEST PURCHASE EVER!

Perfect case!
I love these cases. The face is open so it’s easy to still use my phone without having to cover the front. I hate having a cover around the front too. The sides of the case stick out a bit past the screen of the phone so it protects the phone perfectly, if it landed screen side down the screen wouldn’t touch the ground. I’ve bought four of these for our family’s phones and for my upgrade because they are the perfect case. We are rough on our phones and they have never broken! This case is so much better than all the ones I’ve tried over the years. It’s the perfect case, not too clunky, it’s just sleek enough but still super protective.

Best protective case, looks good too :)
It's a really the best case.. no worries about the phone if it falls. if I must give away my iPhone to someone in the best condition possible, as received, i'd keep the phone safe inside this case.. it's thin n light as the plastic silicone cases, but in nothing is it in comparison with such... this is in the "helmet protection" category, other cases are bulky and kinda ugly.. I like how this looks too

Awesome case
Daughter didn't really want this box but we insisted as the phone is brand new and not cheap. She loves it and says she is glad we talked her into it! She says its comfortable, works great and feels her phone is safer with it as she previously only had cheap covers on her older phones. Way to go Mom and Dad 👍

Robust product which is hard to fit
Looks and feels robust but only time will tell. Fitting instructions are poor both in the box and on the website. In particular, the flexible silicone component is difficult to remove before the Otterbox cover can be fitted to your phone. Eventually I succeeded by using a towel to coax off one corner. Packaging over-complicated and environmentally unfriendly.
