Great Product
I’m surprised more people don’t talk about this product—it has truly elevated my furniture refinishing work. I’ve been able to rebuild missing or damaged areas with great results. It’s easy to use and performs very well. The only drawback is the drying and curing time, which requires a bit of patience. That said, I highly recommend it as a valuable addition to any workshop.

Not a fake review! Thick. Would use again.
WARNING - UPDATE 4/15/2017: I bought another box of this on Jet for using at my new house, and it was COUNTERFEIT. Not sealed, never hardened after use, and bright yellow color. If you have any problems with this awesome product, it might be fake! ORIGINAL - This is a real review- I did not get any discounts or anything. I searched for it out of the blue on my own. Used this to fix up some rotting wood sills outside after watching a YouTube video of the this is old house guy who said to use 'wood epoxy' . I couldn't find the brand he had so I chose this. Worked great. Is extra hard so if you're using push points to replace a glass window it's a little harder to get them in. The stuff is much thicker than wood filler, and thicker than the wood epoxy used in the YouTube videos.. It's more the consistency of regular J-B Weld. But you can put a little water on your fingers to help smooth it, and that worked really really well. I'm impressed. I think I actually prefer this to the runny stuff that wouldn't keep its shape - especially for huge gaps. It sands very nicely also. Would (update: actually did) buy again. The only downside is it's kind of expensive for doing large areas. PS I'm a girl that's not at all handy, and this was a fun project I could do on my own. Tips: It takes a while to mix it (kneed it), and it does get softer the more you kneed. Don't use it until it's a uniform color - I've read that's the most common mistake.

Good product; could be better.
This is a good product. It is easy to mix, doesn't tend to stick to your hands if you mix without gloves, and takes paint well. I'm an electrician and from time to time in residential and commercial applications need to fill a hole or patch a wall and this stuff sets up relatively quickly; it doesn't set up as fast as Bondo or relatively dry mixed Water Putty but does reach a hard set within 40 minutes or so. While this isn't as hard when set as Bondo it is just as, if not more, weather resistant and can be drilled nicely. My only downsides are two fold it is of a strange consistency, not thin and not thick, this can be an upside but means it can't easily be troweled or flattened with a putty knife to get as neat of a finish, without sanding, as Bondo, and it also isn't as thick as J-B Welds stick epoxies meaning it can't be rough formed as well either. I find I use this to fill gaps then cover with either Bondo, Water Putty, or Spackle depending on need. While this will set underwater it is much to thin to do so as effectively as their Marine Stick, but it has worked in the rain with a little protection. I like this, even though it is MUCH more expensive than Duct Seal, to fill gaps and penetrations that don't need a fire rating, as it sets relatively hard. *I would not this is electrically non-conductive and proves a good insulator under CAT III/IV conditions up to and probably even past 1,000 Volts. in a pinch I used this to temporarily fix a glass insulator which broke and for which I didn't have a spare on hand; it worked so well with 0 bleed I almost considered leaving it.

Cost to repair compared to door replacement. :):)
Had a exterior door with a bottom end missing due to rot. Product was an excellent solution to the problem. Mixed it like playing with play dough as a child and pushed it in to place. Shaped it with a "wet" plastic coated finger. Several hours later sanded to give it the proper texture and painted it. Excellent results! Consider the cost of a new door compared to the cost to repair and you will smile. :):)

Product lives up to a 5 star review
Purchased this product as wood had rotted out under the window adjacent to french doors and abutting concrete patio. Significant area to fill in between patio and window box (approx. 1 x .75 x 24 inches). Mixed a healthy amount (be sure and get extra rubber gloves as mix ony comes with 1 pair of light plastic) and it was very easy to mix (need hand strength to knead) and easy to roll out between hands to push into 'trough'. Filled in nicely. I had to change gloves out periodically to get a really smooth finish on it. WARNING: It does start to set within 15 minutes (starts getting hot) and after 30 minutes you can't really work with it anymore -- so work quickly. I got the trough done and it was easy to smooth with just fingers. Have not sanded and painted it yet, but it cured really hard and didn't pull away from the wood or from the cement patio, as advertised. There were nails under the window in the trough and we could not remove them, so this product was the perfect solution. It filled in around the nails and sealed to the wood and concrete. Photo to come. I would highly recommend this product. How much should you order? I used about a quarter of each of the 34 oz. buckets to fill in the trough measurements above. I initially mixed half of what was in each 34 oz. bucket, but ended up having to throw half of that mixture away as it wasn't needed (the extra in the bucket eventually cured rock hard too). Since you have to mix the two parts, I'm hoping that the extra in the tubs will store well for other jobs we may find. Clean up was easy as leftovers do turn rock hard -- so most of it is in a chunk. I used a white platic paint bucket and only had small patches that stuck (can scrub off with some elbow grease). It does readily stick to itself, so you can use some to clean up bits if it's still pliable. If you do use your hands, they will be very sticky and it will take you some scrubbing to get it off (I ran out of gloves to finish it, so used my bare hand -- it sticks to hands pretty well).

Excellent product
I bought a new house last year and discovered this year that someone did an awful patch job on the deck railing. It looks like someone dragged a hose over the top of the wood and, over time, it caused a gouge that's about three inches wide and almost 2 inches deep. Someone filled the gouge with that pink wood filler that's intended for much smaller repairs. They threw a coat of paint on it and that was it. Needless to say, the first time I looked at it sideways the filler fell out. Before I discovered this putty I contemplated how I was going to easily, and inexpensively, fix the railing. I could have replaced the entire piece of wood but that would mean knocking out all the spindles, replace a 12 foot piece of pressure treated 2x6, prime and paint the whole thing and put it all back together again. But then I found this. I've used J B Weld epoxy for years and had the utmost confidence that they were true to their word. They include a pair of plastic gloves with the product and a small plastic spreader. I used my own gloves but the spreader was useful. Mixing it was simple, equal parts from each bucket, mush them around in your hands for a bit to get a consistent color and it's ready to go. I used the spreader to pack it in tight and smooth it a bit. By the way, they suggest using a little bit of water to dampen the product to make it easier to spread - it's a good tip. It took longer than an hour before I felt confident enough in this to start sanding it but I laid it in pretty thick. I used an electric sander and it took some doing for a 60 grit sandpaper to do its job. Just for fun I rolled up some of this like a twig and let it harden. A few hours later it was hard and snapped just like a tree twig would. The only problems I had using this is that it wanted to stick to my gloves and it took some patience to get it to stay where I wanted it. But, I found that using a little bit of water helped and if I pressed the product in with my palm instead of my fingers I got better results. Before I painted my deck rail I hit the repaired area with a hammer a few times to test the adhesion because I didn't want to have to re-do this next year. No problems at all. It all blended in so well that you can't tell where I did the repair. I bought the large size for two reasons. First I have some superficial cracks on some of the floor joists on the deck that I'm planning on filling so water doesn't get in there. Second, just like my J B Weld epoxy, it's a nice product to have around. Also, if you look at the price per ounce of this putty the larger size makes more sense.

Great stuff - especially for the price
I honestly prefer the abatron product but it’s often twice the price. I used this product after soaking the rotted wood with abatron liqui-wood. Products appear to be compatible. I think the liquiwood or a similar product is essential to stabilize the surrounding wood. I used approximately two gallons of this stuff this summer to repair rot that was 3”-4” deep under some windows along front of my house. Alternative would have involved rebuilding 30’ of wood paneling and windows, so I’m glad this stuff exists. This jb weld product dries to be sandable overnight though sometimes I used a heat gun in the morning to complete the cure. Sanded surface was smooth, the material is extremely tough and primer went over it well. Much much faster than rebuilding with new wood. I let the material puff out of the hole slightly, then sand flush once it is cured. I used a 1/4 sheet detail sander and 120 grit paper to prep for primer. I wiped with anhydrous isopropyl before applying aqua lock acrylic primer, final coat was Benjamin Moore latex. Can’t tell repair occurred, the jb weld looks better than the cedar.

Saved me hundreds of dollars compared to replacing a window
This product is in an entirely different class from ordinary wood putty products. Since it's an epoxy, it can be used in any thickness. Ordinary wood putty products can be applied only in limited thickness or they won't dry property. As an epoxy, this product doesn't rely on exposure to air to dry. Instead, the two parts chemically react to harden. The working time is ample and it doesn't start to pre-harden, which is very good. I used this product to repair a rotted window sill. After cutting out the rotted area, I filled the hole with the putty. The instructions say to add a little water to make it smoother, which really does help. You need just a few drops of water added to a golfball-sized piece of putty to make it apply more smoothly. Also, adding a little water gives it better adhesion. It's more expensive than ordinary wood putty but easily worth the additional cost. The product takes paint just like wood. I applied a coat of Zinser 123 primer, then two coats of Behr Paint. The repair is very solid and looks and feels just like new.
