Sensky 12V 24V DC Touch On/Off Sensor Switch Touch Dimmer Switch Brightness Adjustment for LED Cabinet Light, LED Strip Light, Rigid Light Bar

I used this as a controller for a piano music light. The whole body of the controller is touch sensitive. Touch briefly to turn on/off; touch and hold to change brightness (releasing then holding again to change direction). I love that it retains the brightness setting and fades in/out when turned on/off. Unfortunately sometimes touches that I meant to be brief on/off touches are taken as touch and hold (partially because I usually am feeling for the controller which is installed in a somewhat concealed location, but it also happened sometimes while testing as I built the light). To make the install a bit cleaner, I opened the case and soldered the leads from might light directly to the circuit board inside. The case has a couple of screws on each end, then the end plates come off. The circuit board simply slides into the solid housing. Short leads and my novice soldering skills made this a bit of a challenge, but it worked and I thought overall this item was well suited to the modification.

Updated to 5 star: The first I received didn't work correctly or reliably. I was only able to get it to work twice in testing, then it would only come on full at full brightness with no way to dim, and the only way to turn off the lights was unplugging them. The replacement worked as intended but would turn itself off randomly. I contacted the seller and learned that the switch doesn't always work as intended if installed on metal. I had the switch on the aluminum frame of a 3D printer, once moved off the frame the switch worked perfectly. The support and responsiveness of the seller is rare and much appreciated.

I can't believe this little beauty is less than 10 bucks. Went right in line in my 24 volt power supply and works like a charm. Not only does it turn the unit on and off but it gradually brings it up to whatever light level you preset and then gradually dims it back out. Cool

Simply does not work. The on off feature not working, one quick touch, instead of coming on, dims up to full light. Same attempting to turn off. Dimming up and down also not working, just jumps to full on. I know how these are supposed to work, had 3 installed for the last 6 years. Returned first defective unit and the replacement has the same problem. Tried one of the 6 year old switches from another location in the house,(different brand) that works perfectly. (see photo) Quick touch on and off, hold to dim up and down. So, not going to order #3 from the same company, done...

I like this switch a lot! It is small enough to place it anywhere in my desk area while used for the LED lights above the work area. The dim sensor is also a good feature that brings additional benefit for evening hours when I need to lower down the brightness of the led lights.

I used this to repair an 18V Ottlite touch switch when the switch failed after trying to charge a device that drew too much current. I liked that I could retain the dimmer function. It was a bit tricky getting all the connectors into the shaft, I should have cut and soldered it in but it’s fine now.

Works as intended

I have used these for controlling several of the led lights in my RV, but the last one I got was wired backwards so it ended up over heating and shorting out. All in all they are good, but I will be looking for a manual dimmer for this larger led light load.

The dimmer level is used for the next on/off cycle... nice feature.

Wish I could give this more, but as others have pointed out, the control (ie: switching on/off) is unreliable. Pressing per the instructions doesn't always work. In short, no I would not recommend this product as it is unreliable.
