How long does the alarm go off before shutting off

Hi; (My so wrote the review. He was so excited to get the lasers and then write his very own review.) So, we timed it and it only sounds for seven seconds. (Very parent-friendly.) - Scott Forbes

What is this products range?

Very short range for us....30 feet under ideal conditions...more realistic is 15 to 20 feet....that's the downfall...not much range.....best if used indoors, but our event was outdoors and we did not bother to use it...

How are they disabled? Do you unplug them? Or is there a remote?

There is an on/off button on each of the 3 parts.

Is this more for younger kids?(4-8yrs.)

HI; Actually, I'm a middle school science teacher and I borrowed this from my nine year old to illustrate a point in class about the angle of reflection and refraction. I think it's a cool gift for older kids too.
