Great tool for the money
It definitely does the job well. Don't get me wrong these are not high end gauges but they do work good for the job. I really like that you have multiple positions to set it up to use it. Just remember you can't just put the gauges onto the holder and think they are zeroed in. Either Google or YouTube how to set it up. It is super easy to zero it in and gives great results after zeroing the machine in. I would highly recommend. The only suggestion I would make to the company selling them is to either sell them with a case or at least offer one to purchase that holds everything good. That way your gauges are good to use the next time you need them. Not just thrown in a drawer.

This is exactly what I needed to QUICKLY tram my Sherline Mill
I've struggled with using a dial indicator to level the head on my Sherline 2000 for the 7 years I've had it. X-axis was easy but not Y. I don't think I ever did get it down to a thousandth or 2, but with this, after I'd calibrated the two dial indicators (which are very nice ones) I had both axes well within a thousandth - dead nuts so to speak. Shipping was a bit of a stitch. SST is located 4 blocks north of my shop, which I didn't know until I looked them up. My tramming tool traveled all over south Florida on its way to me, but still arrived timely. It doesn't look like SST makes anything else I need, but I'll keep an eye on them. This is clearly a well thought out, well designed, well made and well packaged instrument. And their graphics are pretty nice too. And no, I don't work for them.

Exactly what I needed and then some.
Its not often I write a review...and those rare exceptions are products that really knock one out of the park! Machine tram is one of those things that can make a huge difference in the parts you make but doesn't directly make you any money. With no direct profits, having a cheap and painless way to check it and get back to making parts is what I was looking for. There is a number of products on the market that have a fairly similar basic design to this one...The decision to go with this particular one was originally based on its price-point being more attractive than the other options. Having now used this on a number of machines, I love it! The main unit is well made (as expected with any piece of metrology equipment) and all the text crisp and easy to read...which leads to the real feature this one has compared to other units i've tried. Other similar tools all have the indicators set at a fixed width, while this unit has multiple spots the indicators can spaced at. The ability to move them in closer has been great, it allows me to use this on the lathe or to quickly check my smaller precision vises that other have just been too big for. After using some of the closer indicator holes a few times, i'm confused why other manufactures opted to not build this into their offerings? I'll likely buy a 2nd one soon just to keep at home so I don't have to remember to grab the shop one.

Great Value/Quality
Nicely Packaged! Great fit and finish! The only thing I could suggest to improve would be to include a quality accurate calibration reference pin or magnet like some of the others do. Well Done!

This tool makes tramming your milling machine a snap!
This tool makes tramming your milling machine head a snap. Other commenters have complained that the dial indicators fit too loosely in the tool arms. Not a problem, the fit is snug enough and set screws keep the indicators from moving.

Impressive
Not used it yet,but purchased due to a mate buying one and couldn't recommend highly enough. Personally so far I will say I am very impressed with finish and quality, particularly for the price, also very impressed with the supplied dial gauges which have a beautiful smooth operation and easy to read bold numbering. Thank you to the boys at SST.

Perfect
I was having some difficulty trying to tram my 65mm Makita router to my CNC table. I decided to give this tool a shot. I installed it in the router and calibrated both gauges to the same zero. A little bit of pulling and a couple pieces of brass shim stock and I was ready to go. Itโs not an easy fix but the tool makes it easier to complete. Being able to see the actual values definitely helps. I was so happy that I got my machine properly setup that I threw the included stickers on my enclosure.
