I have access to fresh tamarind where I live, but this product is comparable to such and more convenient as it is shelf stable. Great option if you don’t have access to fresh tamarind or need something more shelf stable.We used it to make tamarind paste as store bought has lots of added ingredients and preservatives. Turned out delicious!

First time using tamarind pulp and it’s worth it! Much better flavor than the premade “concentrates” or powders.— Just soak half a brick in 2 cups of hot water, mash it thoroughly, and strain it. I boiled it (optional) before storing it in the fridge. I already used most of it for Pad Thai, Sinigang, and drinks.

The quality of the tamarind is very good. The only thing to note is that it is not seedless. There are plenty of seeds that you will need to weed out to use the tamarind.

I used the tamarind pulp for pad thai and it worked amazing. It was easy to separate the seeds and the pulp provided a great flavor.

Filipinos like to use the powdered MSG tamarind flavor. This is the healthy version of it. Easy to use — just mix it with hot water and add the extracted juice to your dish. I can reuse it for as long as there’s still juice that can be squeezed from it. No need to throw right away, so it saves you a lot of money.

Most authentic flavor I've found. Once pulp is steeped in boiling water then strained, its addition into any recipe calling for it will blow your mind.
