The diameter of the tube itself at the bottom of the lowest section is 1-1/4 inches and tapers to 1-1/8 inches at the top of the lowest section section. Overall, the bottom end is a scooch wider than 1-1/4 inches when the end cap is included.

Considering using one of these as a flagpole for a camper. Anyone have any results on that sort of use?

Certainly the last 2 rod sections are too flimsy to support much of a flag, but if you only use the larger sections you might get a flagpole about 10-12 feet.
