IT WORKS GREAT! ***YOU MUST READ THIS FIRST***
The Egg Pod works exactly as described and shown in the TV commercial. But you MUST use it properly and follow the instructions. EGG EXPLODING If you put an egg in a regular container in the microwave, it will explode. The reason that Egg Pod works is because the eggs are enclosed in aluminum that blocks the microwaves. The eggs are actually cooked from the steam and not microwave radiation. There is a bottom aluminum insert that the eggs sit in and a top aluminum insert that fits into the top plastic cover. YOU MUST USE BOTH INSERTS! If you look at any of the pictures of an exploded egg, you never see the complete product. That is, the top insert is always missing in the pictures. Of course, the egg will explode! If you use the product as described with the top and bottom inserts assembled (which are well marked), the eggs will not and cannot explode. COOK TIME The product is designed to make hard-boiled eggs. Soft-boiled eggs will be too soft for the shake and peel function. 9 minutes is an average cook item for 4 eggs in a standard microwave. You can adjust by 30 second increments to cook the eggs exactly how you like them. I have an 1100 watt microwave and 8 minutes is perfect for me. COOLING & PEELING You must cool the eggs for 2 minutes before peeling. The cold water makes the egg contract and makes peeling of the shell easier. You can run cold water for 2 minutes, or simply add fresh water and add ice cubes, then wait 2 minutes. Do not remove the water/ice before shaking. The water is necessary for the peeling process. Shake firmly, up and down, 10 times. If the shells don’t fall right off, it’s because you didn’t shake it hard enough. I use my Egg Pod every day and love it. It’s fast and easy. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Follow the directions and you’ll have the same experience.

Egg-cellent
This is a pretty easy doodad to work with. It, probably, doesn’t save time, as opposed to boiling water and making hard-boiled eggs in a pot, but it is fairly efficient. They suggest microwaving eggs for 9 minutes. Since every microwave is different, you may need to cook your eggs more or less time than that. 9 minutes is a good starting point. I find that 10 minutes and 15 seconds works best for me. There’s a warning not to exceed cooking eggs in this thing for more than 11 minutes. I was a little skeptical about how easy the eggs would peel using this thing, but once your eggs are cooked, rested (for two minutes) and cooled (with cold water), this thing, with the eggs in it, can be given ten vigorous shakes, and that breaks the shells on the eggs rather nicely. From there, the shells can be easily peeled from the eggs. This is not a “can’t live without it” kind of thing but it does its job, well, and is a nice thing to have. Its one drawback is that you can only cook four eggs at a time with it. It would be nice if you could cook six. Maybe, in the future, they may come up with an expanded version of this. I understand that it wouldn’t be practical if something like this was too large and cumbersome to lift, but it would be nice if it could handle two more eggs. As it is, it’s a less messy and reliable method for making hard-boiled eggs and for that reason, alone, it’s, probably, worth it, in terms of less muss and fuss.

Plastic could be breaking down.
I bought two of these back in 2022. They get a fair amount of use, have a recently I’ve noticed that in one of the pods that the top has a brownish oily substance that smells like burnt plastic. I’m suspecting that it might be hydrocarbons permeating out of the plastic material. It’s only occurring in one top so it could be just a defect in that individual top. Since they are four years old I figured they have provided the service that I was looking for so I just ordered two more and I’ll throw these older ones away. Until just recently they worked fine so I’m hoping for four more years of well cooked eggs before I have to buy two new ones.

Egg shells are actually easier to peel off
Product actually works well. I don't shake the cooked eggs in the cooker to get the shells off, which would probably work very well, but I peel the eggs individually as I want to eat them - and they are the easiest-to-peel eggs I can remember. But, the design could be better. The bottom of the pod has a fixed metal part. Since it cannot be removed, it is quite hard to get the water out after using it. Shake shake shake shake shake ... - you get the picture. Who wants water to be left in it to go stale, or incubate mold? That is one reason I do not shake my eggs in the pod to get the shells off - pieces of the shell, along with any loose pieces of eggs, can easily get down into the bottom part of the pod, and then "yuck" left there is almost impossible to clean. So, egg pod, make the bottom part easier to clean. Also another great improvement could be made, but I won't go into that now. Glad I bought this.

This is the original Eggpod from Emson. It makes egg boiling quick and easy!

I my opinion, it’s not worth it. Take the time & do it yourself!
Ugh, it worked for a while but then it had an odor to it that just wouldn’t go away. I ended up throwing it away.

OUR MICROWAVE DOESN'T GET STUFF AS HOT NOW!
2-20-2023, 9:52 p.m. Our Microwave has never given us trouble, but, now that I used this Eggpod ONCE, it has caused the Microwave to not make food or beverage as hot for the normal amount of time. It has DEFINITELY reduced the operative capability of our Microwave, and I am VERY upset about that! You need to make good on this: I expect a refund for all 3 Eggpods I purchased and about $70 for the Microwave so that we can get another one to replace it! That should amount to about $110 total. I'm not happy about having to deal with this, but I will accept that as sufficient reprisal for a very bad outcome from your product's usage as instructed! Amazon is not to be charged for this; the Eggpod manufacturer is indebted. Please manage this Amazon! Thank you!! ~Roger Funk, II Prior Review Messages About This Eggpod: I want a refund for this garbage I bought, and I want a new Microwave to replace the one we had until I used this piece of junk! Unfortunately, I bought 3 of them, 2 as gifts to others, and I have to warn them that they will lose their Microwaves if they use them! Not only that, but the eggs were half cooked and were wasted as a pile of broken eggshells mixed with eggs, and the mess got all over the thing inside it. And it was a pain to clean afterward! Besides that, it was great (NOT!)!

What to know about the Egg Pod
My husband had a stroke and lost the use of his left hand, so peeling eggs is impossible for him. We hoped this would solve that problem, but it does not since you need both hands to shake the Egg Pod at least 10 times to crack the shells after cooking. I shoke it 12 times and still had to work at peeling the eggs to get them started, but I have a gimpy elbow and may not have been as vigorous about it. The eggs do peel very nicely, however. We also cook at 10 minutes, not 9 as the directions state, for a fully cooked egg. For cleaning, the aluminum insert pops out on the top half the the Egg Pod, but not the bottom half. This would be a great item for college students living in a dorm or if you travel in an RV. But, again, it cooks eggs perfectly, so it was worth our purchase.

Not sure if it works for my purposes.

Unhygienisch
Eigentliche Funktion ist ok. Innenverschalung läßt sich nicht vollständig herausnehmen, dadurch können sich hier auf Dauer Essenreste ansammeln, die sich auch bei gründlicher Reinigung nicht entfernen lassen. Sehr mangelhaftes Design.

No sirve
Intenté usarlo varias veces y en todas terminó en desastre! Los huevos revientan y se hace un tiradero. Mejor haz tus huevos duros de la manera tradicional.
