Is there a reason to even get the tour model when the race would cover all situations?

Only if you have a particularly quiet helmet and relatively quiet exhaust. However, for the small price difference between the single model (touring or race) and this set, why not get both types plus a carrying case? If you unexpectedly take on a passenger, you’ll at least have a pair to offer — it’s better than them going deaf. These things are pretty easy to clean and disinfect afterward so they’ll be ready for the next unexpected passenger or for you to use if you lose one of the other ones.

Can you purchase the insertion tool separately? Mine slipped out of my hands and went down a sewer grate.

The insertion tool looks to be about the size of an insulin syringe. Try that.

A great buy!

Excellent quality. Packing was exceptional. Used the black ones for a Sunday ride and there was a definite reduction in wind noise. The plugs are expensive but worth the price for their comfort and the job they do. The plugs were very comfortable and I hardly noticed they were in. I wish I had picked them up earlier.
