Klein Tools CL120 Digital Clamp Meter, Auto-Ranging 400 Amp AC, AC/DC Voltage, Resistance, Continuity, Non-Contact Voltage Tester Detection

So far, this is a quality made durable tool. I'm not an electrician, but I am capable of household and automotive electrical repairs. This tool is reasonablely easy to use and I like that it holds one of the probes in a clamp on its side. I cannot report it's accuracy, but I am confident that it's function is as well made as it's exterior. Even the case appears to be well made. It's kind of big because of the clamp, but it fits in my tool bag just fine and the price was reasonable for a brand name product. I have another more expensive volt meter, but I like the Klein better because it has a flat screen.. Even with the back light on, the curved screen on the other tester I own I finger difficult to read.

This Klein Tools Digital Clamp Meter was just what I needed in order to diagnose the problem with my home hot water heater and fix it properly. It paid for itself on the first DIY fix-it project I used it on. Excellent instructions available for review on Youtube helped me to use the meter correctly and safely. Quality construction and a nice protective case to boot so I have no problem giving this product 5 stars and recommending it to my friends. PS As an amateur, I still like to have one of those Klein glow sticks available whenever I first approach a circuit breaker, outlet, or other suspect electrical connection / appliance. Spare no level of caution when working with electricity!

Works awesome

It is an inexpensive meter for the do it yourself person. It works fine. Also it has no Capacitive reading functions on model CL120. If you buy this to test AC Current I reccomend buying the cord separator from klein tools to test ac current in a cord. That option is very handy to have. The NCV test that checks for powered circuits by touching the meter to it works better than that device they sell to test for AC Power! Thanks.....From a retired Tech.

Works as expected. Has all the popular features. Is easy to read and seems accurate. I haven't had it long enough to test durability but so far so good after a couple of months. The backlight isn't always on but is of decent brightness when you hit the button.

Phenomenal volt meter that doesn't break the budget. Using for about 6 months and still works and looks like new

This is a great digital clamp meter. It has a 400A 600V 20 ohm maximum range. The voltage and current settings are super easy to select with the click wheel and feels solid when put in place. The unit itself is very solid feeling, and it’s powered by three AAA batteries, which are included. You do need a Philips screwdriver to get into the compartment which I find really annoying but at least the screw is one of those that stays with the unit when removed. The buttons are large and easy to press, the clamp is absolutely solid. It does mention a magnetic holder which would have been handy for me recently but this appears to be an optional extra attachment you have to purchase. The leads are good for CAT II to CAT IV locations for CAT II you can remove the shields. I love that you can put one of the leads into the holder on the side so you don’t have to juggle three different things. I’ve tested the ranges with another unit I have and it seems to give pretty much the same results. The NCV works well and is actually very sensitive. The display is very clear and easy to read and the back light works well. All in all this is a great tool for many tasks, I just wished the magnet attachment came with it.
