A shaving soap that performs amazingly in all respects, with no obnoxious smells
This is the perfect shaving soap for me! It loads very quickly and easily from a dry puck onto a wet brush. Lathers up very quickly and with no need to fuss; a little water on the brush or a lot, either way it works great. Thick creamy lather, very slick shave; I just have to wipe some hot water around on my face for a second pass, no need to lather again. Doesn't dry out your skin. In fact, this morning I got to work and realized that I forgot to use aftershave balm. No matter; no irritation at all. The scent is very mild, almost unnoticeable; it just smells like soap. Maybe there's a little hint of baby powder, which I'm not crazy about, but barely noticable. The fact that there are no obnoxious smells makes it decidedly gender neutral, and I should see if my wife wants to try it too. It is exactly the same width as old fashioned shave soap pucks like Williams or Colgate, so it fits in a traditional shaving mug or vintage shave scuttle perfectly. However, the puck is much thicker than Williams, so it should last for a very long time. Many months, at least. If it's at all relevant, I use either a 1930's Gillette NEW double edge razor or a 1907 Gillette Old Type SR, with Feather blades, a boar hair brush, I lather on the face, and I have hard water.

Perspective from a Shaving Cream Guy's first try with a shaving soap.
This is the first soap I have tried. I have been wet shaving for over a year now. Scent, for me its almost unscented. If a Dove Bath bar is a 10 on the scale of baby power scent then this is about a 2 IMO. The scent I pick up is more reminiscent of a hint saddle soap, maybe its the lanolin. Regardless, I consider it pretty neutral / close to unscented. Right now my two favorite creams are Truefitt & Hill Shave Cream Tub - Trafalgar,6.7OZ and Wm Neuman's Old Fashion Soda. I found this soap to lather pretty easy using a Kent BK8 brush; really not much more effort than a cream. I store the puck in an old cream tub load it from there and lather it in my mug. The lather is slick enough to get a quality shave with, the volume its equal to what I produce with creams although not quite as dense. Sort of like some Pinot Noir are have a light body and some more heavy. This is on the light side. My skin responded well to this soap and felt well conditioned after the shave. The puck was smaller than expected but its pretty reasonably priced and should produce a good number of shaves. All in all its just OK for me, but has me curious to try more soaps. Right now I prefer the cushioning that I am finding in creams, but honestly I think at the end of the day I am more scent driven and whatever scent is there doesn't motivate me to reach for this soap first. I think given the modest price it may be worth a try. UPDATE: I have revisited this soap as my other supplies have dwindled a bit. Adjusted my lather technique (less water) and have improved the density of my lather to be close enough to the creams I use. The shave quality is excellent, my skin feels great -for me - really the only thing lacking is a quality scent. Regardless this has become my daily driver and I have upped my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

Very smooth glide and keeps a long lather
I shave with a safety razor. This shave soap has a rich and thick long lasting lather, and it doesn't irritate my skin at all. It really does help the razor glide over my skin. I don't have to do as many passes. I also don't have skin burn/rash after shaving. The only thing I could say negative about the add is that it is not 1 Pound as advertised.

Great lather/aroma
Really like the smell of the soap and it lathers well. I use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TKIW3R6/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2 for my lathering bowl, and it does not take a lot of soap or time to produce enough to shave with. I also purchased a few other soaps and creams at the same time and of the soaps I bought (D.R.Harris: Arlington Soap, Henry Cavendish Himalaya Soap, Gbs Ocean Driftwood Shave Soap, Taylor of Old Bond Street Eton College Shaving Cream, Proraso Sapone Da Barbe,) Of all the soaps(not the cream) this is my favorite, the lather and aroma is ample and worth the price. I would buy this again.

you'll be disappointed because it makes for an expensive shave soap compared ...
I think this product is tiny so let me start by saying if you're expecting a big puck of soap, you'll be disappointed because it makes for an expensive shave soap compared to some others on the market. That being said, I don't hate that it is tiny because I never go through a whole cream or soap anyway. But, man does this product leave a moisturizing post shave feel! One of the best I have tried for that matter. It's smell is light and floral sort of. It smells like a very light and not sweet women's perfume, but it's so mild that I don't hate it at all in the least bit. I'd rate the scent an 8 out of 10 but scent is so subjective that an 8 for me, might be a 2 for yourself anyway. It's a nice change from your heavy bay rums etc. Lathers easy after doing a face lather and leaves a slick protective coating for that razor.

Not great
I've used this for almost two weeks in a face off against my regular shave soap and my recollection of another soap. I presently use Kiss My Face in the pump. It is far superior to this product in terms of ease of lathering, glide, lubrication, and feel after the shave. Also, KMF offers a variety of fragrances. My favorite is Lime. As against my memory of Mitchell's Wool, Fat this one seems to have less glide and cushioning. I feel like I'm scraping my face rather than gliding over it. MWF is just as difficult to lather and may actually be a little bit cheaper, for those who prefer a hard soap to a cream, like KMF.

One of the best
Small puck. This is one of if not the best shaving soaps I have used. Mitchells wool fat is the only one that is in the same class. Good balance between lather and lubricants. The razor glides over your skin smooth as can be.

A little goes a long way
This is the third shave soap I've tried. Tabac dried out on my too quickly. MWF was an improvement for me, but I wanted to try another option after I used it all up. I orderd Schafmilch Rasierseife after researching another option on a shaving forum. I didn't pay attention to the size of the puck (my own fault), but it is a much smaller refill than what I had gotten previously. It only filled the tabac container about 1/3 of the way up. Despite its small size, this soap has been great so far! I soak my brush with water, give one quick shake off, and then lather up the soap into the brush. Compared to the other brands I've tried, SR lathers up VERY quickly and is able to hold its moisture. After the intital quick loading of soap, I am able to do 2 passes without having to rewet the brush. The scent is pleasing and not overpowering and I have really enjoyed how the soap left my face feeling after a shave. This soap has definitely taken the top spot for me, but can't wait to try the next one.
