Amazon Essentials Women's Surplice V Neck Swing Dress (Available in Plus Size)

I got this dress in the pinkish color and the blue color & I love both!! I am 5’7 & 248 & I ordered the XXL but it’s so stretchy and the XL would have fit also but I love the way this XXL fits. I did just order another pinkish color in XL because I’m curious how that one will fit so I’ll add pictures of that and the blue one later. The fabric is thin and won’t make you hot. It might show certain flaws like cellulite the tighter the fabric is but I wear shorts underneath to smooth out my butt so that doesn’t happen. It’s so beautiful and soft and stretchy. I added pictures to show just how stretchy it is. You can see it’s also looser on my arms also which I like it being a little big because I hate tight clothes on myself or things that are form fitting. I need to loose weight. My meds are causing rapid weight gain which I hate. I’m going in a cruise soon which is why I got a few of these and I’m happy I did. I highly recommend these. Pockets would make these dresses even better but I still love them so much. They are lightweight and perfect!! They are versatile and can be dressed up or down. Nothing about this dress is uncomfortable. It’s really comfortable in every way. It washed and dried well also. I LOVE all the colors. For under $9 for this dress (at the time I bought it,) is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Right now I even see some colors for under $7 which is a steal!!! Originally they usually sell on this site for $19.99 so I am one happy camper I got them at such a great price! The dresses are not clingy and they fall right above my knees which is perfect. Depending on the color they might be a tad see through but considering the length of the dress it’s easy to wear shorts underneath. Plus for us plus size girlies that will prevent our thighs from rubbing which is a must. ❤️ 😁 I love these so much!!!

Casual comfy dress, it is perfect for warm days, it’s flattering and looks great on curvy women, the price is wonderful and the quality is good, it’s not really a dress to wear out on a date, it’s more of a casual everyday summer, or going to the beach type of dress, it shows the cleavage a little but isn’t anything to outrageous.

Fits great, feels great. Only drawback is that you have to pin the neckline but you can make that look pretty cute.

This dress is comfortable, lightweight, soft, good quality. It is true to size but for a more form fit I’d size down. For reference, I’m 5’4 1/2”, 34 F, med 8/10, 150-155 lbs. it is breastfeeding friendly. I wear it as a house dress but can be used for running errands or casual quick wear. As a millennial, with a jean jacket it will make a good casual on the go dress. It washed well on machine and dried once on drier on low setting without any damaging, hung dry. I will say it is wrinkly when just air dried. Este vestido es comodo, ligero, la teal es suave, y buena calidad. Yo utilizo el vestido en casa paró se puede agregar accesorios para hacerlo apto para hacer mandados o casual. Se lavó sin problema en la máquina y una vez lo seque en la secadora sin problema en temperatura baja. Lo seco colgado pero si se arruga bastante.

As other reviews have stated, this is a red-orange -- not a red -- dress. Which is why I bought it; I like the color. I have extremely pale, warm-neutral olive skin so wearing flash colors is always difficult for me and usually, I tend to stay away. As I've decided to embrace the Florida summer for once instead of cursing it, I decided to go for it with this red/orange and I am SO glad I did. It gives my skin WARMTH, which is a good thing when it has such a plunging neckline. Plunging, but not embarrassing. I did try to wear a slip with it once but the neckline was too low so if you're larger than DDs you may want to consider this. For me, even though it's down nearly to the empire waist, it stays exactly where it needs to stay. I bought a secretary desk off FBMP and wriggled it into the car in this dress without giving any freebies whatsoever. No danger of falling out or open. The color is not the only thing that turned out to be surprisingly flattering though. The dress itself is flattering as heck on my post-meno apple-shaped body. It gives me a waist and reminded me that I have some truly decent...grapefruits? Not melons. You get the drift. Anyway, the neckline provides a great distraction. As I like to hide my thighs I was a little nervous about the right-at-knee length (5'3) combined with the aerodynamically flared skirt, and a good stiff wind. Fortunately there's no such thing as a good breeze during Florida summers unless it's raining; even then, the skirt teased a little but managed to stay put. But that's not the best part. This dress is like wearing your favorite soft cotton tee shirt and nothing else, although it isn't cotton (we'll get to that). I don't really need a slip thanks to color/pattern and even though the temp has been stuck at heat index 101F, with humidity 85%+ I have never felt the urge to rip this off in a screaming heat-rage. I thought I'd be just wearing it as a house dress but it would be a great dress to go for coffee in, or even a casual date night. A great little run around dress. It's also incredibly sturdy despite its buttery softness. I almost didn't buy this dress because I HATE viscose (95% and something stretchy). But this fabric does not act like viscose -- machine washes and dries beautifully, and zero pilling. I think it may have slightly faded but nothing terrible. Probably shouldn't share this, but...I fell asleep on the couch once in this dress, woke up the next morning and had to literally run straight to the bank, do not pass go. There wasn't a single wrinkle. If I didn't look like a crazy person I would have looked fresh as a daisy. DO NOT order up. I ordered my regular standard size L (170lbs) and it fit perfectly. Even after spending 70 minutes in a hot dryer -- I mean I abuse this dress and she still looks great. Incredibly forgiving too: I recently gained 10 pounds (don't judge) and although my other dresses hate me, this one forgives. What I would change: 1) Pockets. It feels almost like an insult that an otherwise perfect, live-in dress doesn't have pockets. I'd pay the extra money for them. ADD POCKETS PLEASE. All women want them. 2) More patterns. I'm a pattern type of girl and honestly, I don't like dots or animal prints. Ya'll gotta quit it with those dots. Stripes, plaids, floral, whatever. But I've never wanted any one dress in more than one color until this one so I really hope the Big A adds more choices. Yeah, get it, whether you like dots or not. If this dress is flattering on me it'll be flattering on you, you gorgeous creature.

I bought 3 of these dresses a couple years ago and wear them often in the summer. They’re great to wear around the house, throw on flip flops for a casual look to run errands, or dress up with nice sandals and fun jewelry. Add tights and a cute jacket or sweater and these dresses transition well into spring or fall. Truly a dress you can wear for all but the most formal occasions—and they’re sooo comfortable! They also wash and dry beautifully. If I were to rate my origin 3 dresses, I’d happily give them an enthusiastic 5 stars. I decided to buy a couple more of these dresses, and they just arrived today (July 2025). They’re being sold as the same dress I bought in 2023, but if you check out my photo, you can see the black dress on the left (new one) is considerably shorter than the grey dress on the right I bought from Amazon two years ago. Even though I have a long waist, the older dresses come to just above my knees, which is a perfect length for me. These new dresses are 2-3” shorter and the elastic at the empire waistline is different and feels awkward. The length is now too short and the waist is uncomfortable. Like with so many other things these days, it feels like Amazon Essentials is cutting corners— sewing these dresses a little shorter to save the cost of a little extra fabric. Considering how much I like my original 3 dresses, I’d pay more to have those extra inches back at the hemline and a comfortable fit around the waist!

I just received&washed this dress, I already love it so much I immediately bought 3 other colors! True to size, the material is lightweight, stretch, and flowy. I love when i can take something out of the wash & don't have to deal with a wrinkly situation! The waistline sits perfectly to hide the tummy issues & with a cami underneath it's modest enough for my workplace. I definitely recommend it.

This dress is super cute and comfy! I can tell it is perfect for breast-feeding. However… I am 5’ 10” and took a gamble on this. It’s slightly too short for my taste. When I pull the elastic part down where it belongs (under the boobs) there is ALOT of cleavage. Just not what I prefer!

Cade bene anche se segna leggermente dato il tessuto in maglina. Veste grande , ho letto le recensioni e ho preso entrambe le tgL/XL perché era ad un prezzo super scontato ed ero indecisa sulla tg .Ho tenuto la L, che era perfetto sul busto. Consigliatissimo!

El corte del vestido es muy lindo y la calidad de la tela es muy buena. Es suave, de buena caída y lo suficientemente gruesa para no transparentarse. Lo compré en dos tonos en talla chica y creo que si pido otro, lo haré en una talla menor, pues por el tipo de escote y elástico en la cintura, da para más y me quedó un poco flojo. El largo me resulta cómodo, yo mido 1.74 y me quedó unos 4 dedos arriba de la rodilla. Por el diseño, lo mismo sirve para una ocasión informal, que para algo más formal usando los accesorios adecuados.

I LOVE THIS DRESS! I am petite and don't often buy clothing without trying them on 1st. after reading reviews I decided to go for it. I'm 5'0 and 98lbs. 32D. I got xs in burgundy and it fits and looks amazing. the color is exact. I'm going to buy one or two more!

Bought this in black and the second one in green. So flattering and comfy. Love these dresses, bought the second one for an extra dress for a Mexico beach holiday.
