We have a cell phone we wanted others to be able to use, instead of our land line all the time. This is perfect in keeping it in place so it doesn't walk off with someone. Easy to lock and install and the cord is long and pliable enough that it works just perfect.

Adhesive tape is strong enough to attach at a center of laptop shell behind screen. Round shape is good design to minimize leverage when they try to peel with minus driver. If someone try to break it forcefully without tools, screen maybe broken then then cannot sell it. Key has serial number. Lock is good quality. Double size tape is not the most secure option to wire however it is relatively much better than none.

I got this because I bought an ipad for my classroom and wanted to make sure that it didn't get misplaced. It easily looped into my desk and the cord is long enough that students can use the tablet comfortably! Great!

It's a pretty good product BUT unable to remove the metal plate from my iPad so I could use it elsewhere. Should be able to provide additional metal plate. Had I known this sooner before my iPad stopped working to put elsewhere, I might changed my mind and return the product.

Works great. But the 3M tape that comes attached to the metal plate that attaches to your tablet is cheap. Won't stick. So I took it off with a razor blade. And replaced it with "Propoxy 20" a hard as steel epoxy putty. That sucker is never coming off. And I'm an uber driver, so I've got my tablet mounted in my car. I've got the lock attached to the tablet, and I have the cable wrapped around my seat frame with a padlock. They'd have to break my window and use bolt cutters to cut the cable. But the lock will never come off the tablet unless I unlock it.

I needed a lock to secure a monitor in my office. Instead of overpaying on some name brand locks I decided to go with the Ruban security lock. I'm glad I did. It is everything I was looking for in a device lock and I just purchased another one. Solid and simple to use. Includes two keys.

Does exactly what it says. I bought this to secure my daughter's iPhone in her backpack. I looped the cord through the earphones opening built into the front section, and secured to the back of her iPhone. Now, she can use her phone when she needs to (after school), but it never leaves her backpack, and thieving kids can't just take it away from her. She also can't just put it in her pocket or take it out whenever she wants to, so hopefully she won't be using it inappropriately during school -- the intent is for it to be available for her to use it after school.

I work in a space that has a dedicated iPad for music, and I used this lock kit to keep the iPad from "running away". It's more of a deterrent than a high-security lock, since you could get the sticky pad off if you really tried, or cut the wire with the right tools. However, if you're just looking for a way to tether devices to one spot and make it less easy for someone to pocket it, this is perfect.
