Nice machine. It works great. The price was reasonable. It was not hard to figure out how to use all the stitches. Although it would be great if it came with a print manual instead of having to go online for it.

When my old-time Singer was no longer repairable, the new Singers had such a bad reputation that I didn't think I would ever buy another. After several years of using a high-end and very pricy quilting machine, I couldn't put up with the constantly annoying design flaws any more. I wanted a more basic machine to do the majority of quilt piecing and for making clothing. I did a lot of research before buying this Singer, and it paid off. This machine has sewn flawlessly on a variety of fabrics, from silky, stretchy, quilting cotton, and heavy flannel. It is easy to thread and make bobbins. I wish the throat was a bit bigger, but I will be using my quilting machine for larger projects, so I can live with it. The only gripe I really have is that the lever to lift the foot is on the right instead of the rear, so it almost forces you to use your right hand to raise the foot. I've been using my left hand on rear levers for nearly 60 years, so that's a hard habit to break. I would definitely recommend this model as a solid beginner or mid-level machine.

So disappointed! I learned how to sew on a Singer Sewing Machine growing up my mom still has the machine we learned to sew on and also had my grandmothers Singer and had never had a problem with either machine. You could run over them with your car and you would have more damage to your vehicle and the Singer would work like a charm. If I could rate the HD6700C lower than a 1Star I would. Although it is easy to thread the thread constantly breaks for no apparent reason! I am not a beginner sewer but a beginner would find it difficult to steer clear of the numerous problems that constantly occur with this machine. The feeder foot is set way to low which does not allow the machine to feed while sewing, causing the thread to bunch up around the bobbin causing a EL error message time and time again. Tension and stitches are very uneven. Lighting is not good and LED Display when changing stitches appears nothing like shown in videos on YouTube. I even purchased an extended warranty on the machine and Asurson will not help because still under warranty, Amazon will not accept back because beyond 30 days and Singer has not responded. I hate this machine. The threader doesn’t work…. Shall I go on….. It sounded like the perfect machine for me…Everything I always wanted…. Hardly….Do yourself a favor and bypass this machine. Don’t walk away from it….run and don’t look back… At this point I’m out $350 and a machine that I have placed back in its box. Oh and did I mention it didn’t come with a manual and was missing several of the presser foots that was to accompany the machine. Hopefully for the sake of Singer I just got a Dud………. When my daughter said she wanted a starter sewing machine I said phooey and got her this one. It's built well, will handle 3 layers of denim, and easy to learn.

I’m enjoying my new machine! I was mainly aiming for a stronger motor for creating my backpacks, totes, and purses. But the speed control, needle stop position option, drop down feed dogs, multiple stitches, drop in bobbin, etc., are all extra perks I haven’t had on past machines that I didn’t realize I “needed”! (The font stitch is kinda lame but that’s not a game changer since it wasn’t on the wishlist). There is but one negative comment I can make concerning this machine. It is simply this: after a couple hours of sewing I am acutely aware of an annoying ringing in my ears/head. Thankfully it doesn’t last forever; it stops the very moment I turn off the machine. Ah, the grand world of computerized technology. I recommend this machine for any thread artist! (Minor note: A lower-priced option without the additional feet would have been nice because I already have multiples of all of them and more. Or maybe the package deal could be the choice of the feet or the extension table?)

Bought this for my wife who took up quilting. This is a fantastic machine, and she is SO happy with it. Plenty of features, it is a heavy duty machine, and can sew anything she can throw at it. Singer is a fantastic make for sewing machines, and I strongly recommend if you are looking for a reliable machine. This is likely where you should start that search.

I can quilt. Do art work with fabric. Make bags. I sewed an 8 layer rag blanket with ease in one afternoon I’ve used cheaper sewing machines and they just gave me migraines frustration etc at Christmas time too. This machine is perfect

Plug has 2 flat pins therefore not compatible! Amazon should ban ordering this if your not from the US, I've just found out if you purchase a correct plug the warranty won't apply! Returning it as I had high hopes. The manufacturer won't even resolve this matter, they are happy for a return.
