Question 1

is there a meter that measures to see if these sheets are actually conducting energy?

Accepted Answer

Just use a multi meter or continuity meter to see if there is a ground connection between the wire (unsnapped) and the sheet.

Question 2

How do you wash this sheet?

Accepted Answer

The Half-Sheet can be treated like any other sheet you own, with a few things to keep in mind, considering the conductive silver fiber that is woven through out. Here's a few key things to key things that will help extend the longevity of the sheet:● Wash your sheet routinely - once every week or two. If you don't wash the sheet regularly, sweat, wastes, and a variety of organic compounds excreted through your skin can build up and create a film on the sheet that can impair conductivity. Such substances could oxidize the silver fibers as well.● Wash your sheet in warm water. Set wash cycle to `gentle.' Use a liquid laundry detergent at about half the recommended amount on the label. Do not pour detergent directly on the sheet. Let the detergent dissolve in water first, or put the detergent in the designated machine dispenser, and then place your sheet in machine. Tumble dry on `low' or `no heat' setting. Remove sheet from dryer promptly. Fold to minimize wrinkles.● Never use bleach! Bleach instantly destroys the conductivity of the silver fibers, and is typically what has happened when somebody reports "sudden sheet death."● We have tested many commercial detergents, even soaked sheets in them for a week, and they do not harm conductivity. Read labels, however, and DO NOT USE if the product contains any of the following: 1) Bleach, as noted above. 2) Fabric softener. 3) Whitening or oxidizing agents (such as Oxi-Clean).● Don't use any fabric softener or any drying sheets. Over time they might contribute to loss of conductivity because of their chemical content.● We caution against using so-called all-natural detergents because many contain oils (lavender oil, for instance), because they could have a detrimental effect over time.● Do not dry clean your sheet.● Some people like to iron their sheets. If you do it, set the iron to low heat.● Avoid applying creams, lotions, and essential oils within an hour before bedtime to any areas of your skin that will be in contact with the sheet. The oils contained in these products become absorbed into the fabric of the sheets and can reduce or damage conductivity.● Want to remove a stain? Spot treat with hydrogen peroxide. Simply apply the hydrogen peroxide to spot. Pour it on or spray it on. Allow to soak in. Dab with a clean towel. Wash afterwards.

Question 3

Should I be sleeping in shorts and a tank so that more of my skin is on the sheet? Or are light pajamas alright?

Accepted Answer

I sleep in light pajamas and my husband sleeps in shorts. I have noticed better sleeping and less pain and inflammation for myself, however my husband has seen an even bigger difference.

Question 4

Can I place the sheet under the bottom sheet or is it better to have it touching skin?

Accepted Answer

It is better when it is touching the skin. There is a warming effect so perhaps a light pajamas would be fine. You may not feel it through layers of clothes.
