Multimeter Tester, TRMS 4000 Counts Volt Meter Auto-Ranging Ohmmeter Digital 1.5v/9v/12v Battery Voltage Tester Measure Voltage Current Resistance Diodes Continuity Capacitance with NCV

Very pleasantly surprised by this inexpensive multimeter. I was not expecting a lot but was quite happily surprised by the ease of use, the large number of features, and the accuracy of the voltage, current, capacitance, and resistance measurements. It is compact and has good fit and finish. It is 4000 counts meter which is fine for electronics hobbyist use. For a beginner multimeter user, an electronics hobbyist, or just to have a spare meter, this is pretty nifty. The NCV feature is handy. The set of test probes seem to be of decent quality and come with those little plastic covers that cover everything but the tips (to prevent accidental short circuits).

This is a surprisingly good multimeter with advanced features for a great price. I've tried out nearly all the features so far and it has worked beautifully. I especially like something I hadn't had before in a meter: the battery voltage tester settings that apply a slight load to the battery under test showing whether it still has sufficient charge. You could find a multimeter with more digits of precision and the ability to read >600V, but for most people who are not professional electricians, this meter provides more than enough capability. I'm mostly using it for electronics and am very pleased.

Astro AI 4000 Count True RMS Digital Autoranging Multimeter: It has most of the basic capabilities, except does not read Hz. It has a small built in flash light at the top, next to the non contact voltage sensor. Also a switchable lighted display, for great visibility in dimly lighted locations. I like the bright red protective soft plastic "boot". There is provision on the back of the meter boot to hold the probes, while not in use. It has Function, Hold, Max and light keys. Also, a built in battery checking feature, with positions for 1.5v, 9v, and 12 volt batteries. While you can estimate the condition of household batteries by checking the voltage; the meter positions do a load check, as well, and indicate the battery voltage, and condition under the test load. So far, I really like it, and consider it to be a good basic meter for around the house, shop and garage use. I have found nothing wrong with it, so far, but I am not an electrician, or engineer. Yes, I recommend it, and would buy it again. Be sure to read the Manual, and observe all safety recommendations, and warnings

I’ve owned more meters over the years than I care to admit, some dirt cheap, some that cost more than a car payment, and this little AstroAI unit holds its own. It’s sturdy, accurate, and easy to read, even for old eyes that have seen a few too many decades of tiny print and bad lighting. The auto-ranging and backlight features make quick work of household fixes and garage diagnostics. Is it a Fluke? No. But it’s damn close for a fraction of the price. The feel in the hand is solid, the readings are consistent, and it hasn’t glitched once in months of use. Throw in a set of better leads and maybe a small case, and you’ve got a go-to meter for just about any weekend project or light professional task. Bottom line , dependable, affordable, and tough enough to earn a permanent spot on my workbench

Good meter, well-featured and fairly priced. Comes with batteries (that have held up for nearly two years and still show 1.58v). For continuity tests, in addition to an audible tone, it also has an LED (green) that illuminates, which I've found useful when testing in a noisy environment. The leads store (clip) easily into a molded insert on the rear of the meter. It has a tiny (white) LED on the top/end of the meter to be used as a flashlight. A critique would be that the leads would benefit from being ~8" longer. A soft case would be nice, but perhaps not at this price point. The first unit I owned lasted ~2 years at which point it would no longer test continuity. Voltage tests still worked, though. The unit claims a 3-year warranty, so I sent an email to AstroAI (with my receipt attached). They responded within 24 hours with some troubleshooting tips (confirm both fuses good), leads inserted firmly, etc. I confirmed the meter remained inoperable for continuity tests. The next email requested a short video validating the condition, which I provided. Shortly thereafter, I received an email with an order number for the replacement unit they were providing. Great customer service! I own a few other AstroAI products and my experience with their Customer Service Team reinforces my intent to continue buying their products.

all functions checked out perfectly. very easy to use. display is excellent. I'm using it to trouble shoot electric guitars and to verify new components before installing them.

Great tech at a great price!

I've used a lot of DMM in my 46 year electronic career and this is a great meter for the average home owner. I like that it is a 4000 count meter, is auto-ranging, and has a non-contact-voltage indicator so you know if the device you are measuring is AC hot either high or low voltage. It appears that the battery function puts a small load on the battery since measuring a AAA battery that reads 1.4 volts will read low on this scale. I like this feature.

The TRMS 4000 is exactly as described. It’s easy to use, quite intuitive in fact and using the function key to alternate between DC and AC reduces clutter of the rotary dial. The battery testers work particularly well. Buying a good pair of Alligator leads to compliment the Multimeter would be worthwhile. Very fast delivery by Amazon 👏
