KanPas V28 Mini Automotive Dashboard Car Ball Compass

Other than when you are crossing a metal bridge, this compass is stylish and helps because my GPS won't display compass direction. I stuck it on top of my short flat antenna.

I have tried this compass everywhere in and around my dashboard and windshield and it just doesn't work. Completely deflected away from the correct direction.

In some cars the compass is affected by the magnetics in the dashboard making it inaccurate.

It is downright laughable to read the critical reviews of this compass. The compass is blamed for the electrical/magnetic interference caused by the vehicles! I promise those considering a purchase, that this compass will point to magnetic north. And if you should release your hold on it, gravity will pull it toward the ground. Modern vehicles are loaded with electrical wires. So rest assured, if you locate this or any other simple magnetic compass near any of them, visible or invisible, the electrical current will affect the compass. Having said that, I am most pleased with this compass. It is small, but easily readable. It will not block you view. Move it about inside your vehicle until you find a location that provides the LEAST interference. Generally speaking, the need for any magnetic compass in a vehicle is to determine whether you may be traveling180 degrees away from your intended course. This compass will solve that problem.

nice and small, works fine outdoors but as soon as I bring it inside my car, it only points SE, reason being, I have a magnetic mount for my cellphone, so no joy… update: I tried again after removing the magnetic phone holder, but the result was the same, so clearly the interference comes from the car, a 2020 Toyota Corolla 😞

Does not work, no good place to install it, too much dashboard wiring. Wish VW would have a mirror w/direction option for Golfs.

Works as it should

Some places in the car make it not function correctly, which is in the directions. Bought it for the dash but can’t put it there. It’s not the compass, it’s the vehicle. I was able to put it in a coin holder spot between the seats so I can still see it. Item is as expected.

Something a little different from other designs. Shows your heading clearly and works smoothly and accurately, not seemingly affected by the vehicle. I use it in my camper when I travel for quick reference if I’m unsure of my direction.
