Nutricost Tudca 250mg, 60 Capsules (Tauroursodeoxycholic Acid) Gluten Free | GMO-Free

I’ve gone through a few different TUDCA brands at the 250mg dose, and this Nutricost one is the first that I can honestly say makes a tangible difference. My main reason for taking it is twofold: I want the liver and protein-folding support, but I also take a pretty oil-heavy stack daily — phosphatidylcholine, gamma E, borage oil, fish oil — and needed something to help my body break all that down efficiently. For those interested in the biochemistry: TUDCA (tauroursodeoxycholic acid) is a conjugated bile acid that works through several well-characterized pathways. In the endoplasmic reticulum, it acts as a chemical chaperone and attenuates the unfolded protein response — notably downregulating the IRE1 branch (search "IRE1 TUDCA" for the papers), while also modulating PERK and ATF6 signaling. This reduces CHOP-mediated apoptosis and suppresses JNK activation, both of which are key players in ER stress-driven cell death. TUDCA also inhibits Bax translocation to the mitochondria, stabilizes mitochondrial membranes against permeability transition, and reduces cytochrome c release — collectively protecting against both intrinsic and ER stress-induced apoptosis. In the gut, it improves bile flow and micelle formation, which emulsifies dietary fats and fat-soluble nutrients, aiding absorption and reducing the heavy, sluggish feeling that can come from an oil-heavy supplement load. None of this is medical advice, just the mechanisms that make this particular compound worth understanding. A quick heads-up for first-timers: when I started TUDCA, I got some mild nausea. I suspect I had what’s sometimes called sluggish or sticky bile, and jumping straight to 250mg was a little much. I backed off and slowly ramped up over about a week and a half, and after that I could take the full dose with zero issues. If you’re new to this, I’d strongly recommend easing in rather than diving straight into a full capsule. On the potency side: I’ve tried two other well-known brands claiming 250mg TUDCA per capsule, and they didn’t produce the same results. I don’t know if it’s raw material sourcing or stability, but Nutricost’s version works noticeably better for me. The effects on recovery are subtler than the digestive stuff, but I feel less of that nagging, overworked sensation after long physical days when I’m taking it. The capsule itself is standard 0 size, easy to swallow, no taste or smell. The bottle I got in early July 2026 expires March 2029, over three years. Nutricost says made in the USA in a GMP-compliant facility with third-party testing. I’d like to see published COA here on Amazon, but the basics are there. Price per capsule is .41 cents per my post date, which is more than fair for a dose that actually delivers. No side effects for me after the initial ramp-up. I'm speaking from my experience only. I had gallbladder while thickening and sludge my right quadrant in the middle of my right side was painful for so long. I watched a man called Dr Berg. He explained how this particular supplement could help with this type of an issue. He explained that they would be very effective with minimal side effects. They're easy to take because their capsules so the ease of use is just swallow. They were very effective for me therefore the value of these things is almost priceless the ingredients are what they say they are from what I can tell and there is no oder from what i can tell. I've had no side effects from this whatsoever other than positive things happening to me in my pain has been non-existent it took about 2 weeks for it to take effect my lab results are phenomenal and I'm very happy.

Before starting this TUDCA product, I had had 9 gallstone attacks over 6 months, with increasing frequency. My liver enzymes had been high for years, and a sonogram showed my gallbladder FULL of gallstones. My doctor said if I started having symptoms, she'd recommend having my gallbladder out (I hadn't told her about the gallstone attacks, so she'd done the sonogram based only on the elevated liver enzymes). Since I have known other people who had lifelong diarrhea after getting their gallbladders removed, I wanted to try a more conservative approach first. So I ordered this stuff. When I took 1 capsule per day as directed on the bottle, I had no attacks... unless I missed a day. So it seemed its 250mg dose was just a "maintenance dose" and I wasn't making much progress against the backlog of gallstones. So I looked up the original research on TUDCA/UDCA, found the mg/kg ratio and did the math. At 170lbs, I should have been taking 700mg/day to get the existing gallstones to dissolve. This product is 250mg. So I increased to 2-3 capsules a day. It has now been 8 months with no gallstone attacks AND my doctor commented on how much improved my liver enzymes are! Even when I've missed a couple days, I haven't had an attack. That said, apparently the liver starts producing thick, sticky bile that sediments out into gallstones when one's hormones drop during perimenopause. So, I'm also looking into starting HRT to address the root cause.

Nutricost supplements are great and reasonably priced but getting the inner seal off is a nightmare!

I use this to help with digestive issues and improve bile flow and reduce IBS symptoms. Helps a great deal as a bile salt.

Great product, love that their supplements are 3rd party tested, It did not upset my stomach, there was no taste or odor left in my mouth, It was ease to swallow, and I believe it made a positive effect on my health.

Tudca is good for your liver and found this one was the best price out there.

I take one daily. The tablet is terrible in taste just like the real thing! So the trick is to have it by itself and a quick gulp of water chased with juice to remove the aftertaste. If I let it lie a minute in my capful of other tablets then the taste transfers a bit so don’t do that! You can Google TUDCA taste to find out more, and it definitely isn’t made from bear liver LoL though traditional Chinese medicine might have originally discovered it through bears. I am happy with the quality and didn’t face any issues like powder outside the capsules.

This is a very underrated supplement. This cleanses your liver, specially for those who have developed a fatty liver due to a very bad diet and alcohol consumption.

Incredible product. After years of fat malabsorption and issues with bile ducts this has finally given me normal fat digestion. No more dhiarria after one week. I use ut in combination with bile salt and digestive enzymes. More energy, less pain and bloating. The only issue I have is that I am unable to find out how its sourced... if its from bears, I would really have a problem with that.
