Purchased as a first time banjo, and it's really pretty and sounds nice enough but the strings are terrible. The smallest string broke the first time I tuned it, and I definitely wasn't turning it too hard. So, go ahead a buy a new pack of strings while buying this so you don't have to wait to actually play it.

Yeeeeehaaa!
Been learning to play on it now for six months, seems like the more I get used to it the action is a little high, may need to be professionally adjusted though to play easier as I progress in skill. Stays in tune better than expected with the stock tuners! Good beginner banjo for the price!

The wood finish is nice and the reno head is good
Purchased for my son who wanted to learn to play the banjo. The wood finish is nice and the reno head is good. But we had to change the strings immediately and one of the tuning knobs was cracked. If you already have experience playing, you will not want this banjo.
