Miracle of miracles!
My son started Kindergarten this school year and he was struggling to remember his letters and sounds. They started learning blends and I was getting worried. He was refusing to do flash cards and was disliking going to school. We were at logger heads doing homework. As a result, I purchased everything I could find to make learning fun again. I bought the Leapfrog DVDs, which he thankfully loves. Then, I purchased this Leapfrog Word Builder, the Leaptop, and the Leapfrog fridge magnets. I didn’t even realize that they were all themed to go with the DVD, which is icing on the cake. Miracle of miracles, he actually put his Switch down to play his Leapfrog toys. The DVDs got him started and makes him excited. We’ve watched it every few days for reinforcement. I sit with him and we say the letter sounds together. The toys are good practice. Now that he’s remembering his letters, he actually wants to put his video game down to practice his flash cards and blend ladders. So happy with the entire Leapfrog franchise. It still requires a teacher and a parent introducing and teaching the concepts, but this was essential in making it fun and practicing a lot more. I also am using the Preschool Prep DVDs (started with those, which was good), and I’m also paying for a couple fun reading apps for added fun and Boom cards for any tough concepts that need intervention like e/i sounds.

Makes learning fun again
This is a great product for kids restoring out reading and learning phonics. It is advertised for a toddler, but this could definitely help kids in TK kindergarten first grade even second grade. It is a fun gift because it’s educational the kids don’t realize they’re having fun and learning at the same time without feeling pressure or being bored of sitting in a chair listening to a teacher yell at them. This makes learning fun again.

I knew it was too good to be true but I wanted it to be that good!
All is great and the sound blender is the main feature I wanted my son to use badly but… the screen contrast is SOOOO BAD! I should have k ow when I saw the contrast button but again, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Forget ever using this when it’s not daylight even with the bright indoor lights you may have. It’s so hard to see. I changed the batteries and it didn’t resolve the issue. If only that was not an issue I’d give it the highest reviews allowed! I really would. Leap frog if there is anything you can to fix this, I would but them in bulk as gifts for every kid I know.
