Do you have to heat up oat in order to make oatmilk or just soak oat with enzyme in cold water is fine?

just soak it for 15 minutes, drain and rinse off the extra starch, do not heat it up. Blend soaked oats with ice water or very cold water for 20-30 seconds. Of course strain with cheesecloth or whatever you have on hand. Last about a week or so.

How is this best used?

I use it to soften bread for cheesesteak sandwiches. It does a wonderful job.
