Best First Time Parents Book!
The amount of times I reference this book should deserve a medal. Sets a strong foundation of things that might seem โobviousโ but really arenโt in this generation. 10/10 recommend for new parents! Also itโs something you can just open to a topic youโre curious about, you donโt necessarily have to read it front to back (which I love as a busy mama)

Great book if you want a Montessori home.
"The Montessori Baby" is a comprehensive guide to applying the Montessori method of education to infants and toddlers. Written by Simone Davies, a Montessori teacher and founder of the Jacaranda Tree Montessori school in Amsterdam, the book provides practical tips and insights on how to create a nurturing environment that supports the development of young children. The book is divided into three parts, with the first section introducing the Montessori method and its principles, such as respect for the child, observation, and the importance of the prepared environment. The second part focuses on the specific needs and abilities of infants and toddlers, and how the Montessori approach can be adapted to meet those needs. The final section of the book provides guidance on how to create a Montessori-inspired home, including tips on setting up a play area, choosing toys and materials, and establishing daily routines. One of the strengths of "The Montessori Baby" is its emphasis on observation and respect for the child's individual development. The author encourages parents and caregivers to observe their child's interests, needs, and abilities, and to tailor their interactions and environment accordingly. This approach promotes a sense of independence and autonomy in the child, and can help foster a lifelong love of learning. Another strength of the book is its practicality. The author provides concrete examples and suggestions for how to implement the Montessori approach in daily life, from creating a diaper changing station to choosing appropriate toys and materials. The book is also well-organized and easy to navigate, with helpful summaries and bullet points throughout. However, one potential weakness of "The Montessori Baby" is that it may be overwhelming for parents who are new to the Montessori method or who feel pressure to create a perfect Montessori environment. While the author acknowledges that no home can be completely Montessori, some parents may still feel intimidated by the high standards presented in the book. In addition, it is crucial that the primary caregiver is invested in the principles outlined in this book. It can be challenging for a working father to discourage a stay-at-home mother from using an ExcerSaucer if she does not fully support the Montessori method. Overall, "The Montessori Baby" is an excellent resource for parents and caregivers who are interested in applying the Montessori method to their young children. The book provides a wealth of practical advice and insights, while also emphasizing the importance of observation and respect for the child's individual development.

My Montessori doulas!
I absolutely love everything about this book. The authors are amazing guides for prospective parents (whether youโre a solo parent-to-be, a couple, adopting, or the parent of an existing child who is reading this in preparation for another child). I love how this follows Maria Montessoriโs history and ideals, and is true to real Montessori roots. There are so many items that social media and shopping apps tell you that you NEED to buy, as though youโre a bad parent if you donโt purchase the most expensive AI crib, latest technology, etc. for your baby. However, simplicity helps babies to thrive and this book helps explain what kind of environment to set up to nurture our children. This book reminds us that babies deserve respect, are far more complex than we give them credit, and that theyโre capable of amazing us if given the chance to express themselves and, in-turn, deserve that we observe them prior to rushing them through life. Whether youโre familiar with Montessori or want to be, the authors do a fantastic job of explaining everything. The pictures and drawings are so sweet.

A self help book that I canโt put down
This book is so beautifully written and encouraging that I found myself craving more with each page. It makes me so excited about raising my children the Montessori way. The examples and explanations on how to create a sufficient space for our babies/children helped rid my worries on if we could financially create a beautiful and independent home for our baby to explore and develop. You donโt need to be rich to raise your babies with this approach. In fact itโs more simple than we think and it takes all the pressure off us as parents. We donโt need to buy all the toys and devices for our children. Fill a bottle with rocks and twigs and watch your baby explore the elements on the inside. Take them outside to feel the earth against their bodies and donโt freak out when they want to taste the dirt. Anyways I could keep going on and on about how this way of raising our baby is so freeing for not only itโs but for the development of our incredible child. Happy reading
