Liked that it came with a low-profile adapter as that ...
A lightning storm knocked out several devices (modem, TV, ethernet switch, and the onboard LAN to my computer/NAS server). This product was recognized instantly right out of the box - no need to install drivers. My NAS was back up in no time. Liked that it came with a low-profile adapter as that is what I needed.

Tried multiple game servers to rule out a bad server. Did fine when browsing the internet
This would not keep a solid connection for online gaming, so I had to buy a different one. Tried multiple game servers to rule out a bad server. Did fine when browsing the internet.

LAN Card
I was in need for a LAN card for an older computer. I went to Amazon to see what was available. Amazon had many choices. This card was the one I ordered. The card arrived and was installed. It worked right off and continues to work today.

Duplicate MACs , hijacks the BIOS boot process
I ordered three of these to experiment with ethernet channel bonding. When I plugged one into my system it interacted badly with my BIOS. I don't know if my BIOS is to blame or the boot ROM on the card. I ultimately had to disable network boot capability altogether in the BIOS (which require removal of the card first, since I couldn't get into BIOS setup when it was installed). After disabling network boot I was able to get further. Linux detected the NIC without trouble: [ 8.701152] r8169 0000:06:00.0: eth1: RTL8168c/8111c at 0xffffc9001165a000, 00:e0:4d:1a:01:01, XID 1c4000c0 IRQ 63 [ 8.704393] r8169 0000:06:00.0: eth1: jumbo features [frames: 6128 bytes, tx checksumming: ko] The next problem came when I installed the second card and booted linux again. It was detected properly, but the second card had the same MAC (00:e0:4d:1a:01:01) as the first... not good. I'm sure I could have use ethtool or whatnot to change the MAC addr in one of them (not sure if the change would be volatile or not). The combination of these two issues exceeded my tolerance threshold. Must return.

Not Linux compatible or DOA
Either not Linux compatible or got a defective item. Tried on a openSUSE 12.3 x64 PC. It is detected and gets an IP but the connection is intermittent. Also, it is causing intermittent hard lock-up. Got another card, different manufacturer but same chipset and works great in the same system. Not worth spending any calories to return it. EDIT: Contacted by the seller the next day after review and was offered a replacement or refund (no return needed).

Good network cards.
These network cards are cheap and effective. One or two may be DOA or just stop working all together, but when you buy them in batches for a business, can't beat the price for these network cards. Overall, fast a reliable.
