Excellent Lung demonstration
I love this item because, it's actually larger than the picture and it demonstrate the basic lung function, very simplistic. My 4 grandchildren were able to comprehend my teaching. Ages 13 and 8

Poor packing, causing the product to brake, Disappointed with the supplier!
The product looks nice from the top but when pulled out from the box, both pieces were found broken from the bottom edges. Poor packing witnessed as just two sheets of crushed paper to protect a delicate piece. In one piece the top assembly has fallen. Due to the breakage, the acrylic pieces punctured the rubber leaving the apparatuses unusable. Disappointed.

Easy to break if not monitored closely.
I purchased this for a children's museum. We made a base for it so that it could sit on a table without being moved (we screwed it to the table,) but the bottom could still be pulled to demonstrate the lung function. Well, kids aren't careful and adults don't monitor their kids, so we quickly learned that we would need to secure the lung to the stopper better, otherwise they just pulled the stopper out and everything would be at the bottom. After we got that figured out, kids would just blow into the top and the balloons would explode. Finally, after almost 2 years, the bottom piece became so brittle that it ripped. In all: good product for older, more respectable children/students. Will look for something that might work a little better for younger kids.

GREAT FOR TEACHING
My students were struggling to understand the mechanism for breathing. One look at this apparatus completely changed the game for them. The rubber used for the diaphragm is great. Very durable.
