Is it CAT5e compatible ?

Dear customer, It is compatible cat5e. Thanks & Best Regards. VCELINK

how deep is the socket? Will I need a 25mm back box or deeper?

I bought the VCELINK Surface Mount Back Box for Network Wallplate Ethernet Faceplate 1 Gang 32mm White to go with my purchase, you need a bit of room for the wiring, so unless you want a big hole in the wall the back box simplifies the whole process. I also looks neat and in keeping with other electrical fittings.

Dear Customer, You can use cat6a cable, but the speed is still cat6 We hope this information can help you. Thanks & Best Regards. VCELINK

will it take cat 7 cable?

Dear Customer, You can use cat 7 cable, but the speed is still cat6. We hope this information can help you. Thanks & Best Regards. VCELINK
