Does what LED test lights cant
Impressed by the length, gauge and material of the cord and overall ruggedness of it. You can use this to check your ignition module by seeing how far the spark will jump from the plug wire, you can check both by distance and light brightness and you cant do that with an led type. These are best device for checking fuses in no time, hook the clip to gnd and on each fuse you will see a little tiny solder bump above each pin, just touch it with the ultra sharp point and watch the light. If your looking fo a blown fuse this is fastest way, go right down the line. I check 20 fuses in under 1 min. I've dropped this and banged it several times it wont break. Theres valid complaints on the crimping and soldering but com'on this id delivered to your door for 10$, how hard is it to fix a crimp or add some solder? Be careful the metal tip is a home defense weapon, this is hard hard metal and its razor sharp, it will easily cut deep into a finger or go straight thru you on a slip and fall. I have a large knife and gun collection but I ground down the tip for safety reason, Im sure you can put it right thru the hood or door/fenders on your car. Use it aw well to gnd othe light bulbs or coils, this can work just like a switch all the time and led types have problems doing that.

Instructions
Clip to ground. I suggest using the negative pole on your battery. Probe a hot wire coming from the positive terminal of your battery. If the tester lights up, you have power to that point, where you probed. If not, then you have an open circuit. E.g. the fuse that the power needs to go through is blown, or your stoplight isn't lighting up because it's not getting power. If your test light lights up and your stoplight does not, then you have a bad ground for your stoplight. It's usually one or the other: no ground or no power. The test light helps to eliminate variables. Tip: Create an extra-long cable to clip directly to the negative on the battery, so you aren't relying on the car to be well grounded. Also: low voltage only, like cars -- 6-12 volt. Don't try it on the house current. That would be very, very bad. Test light uses 12 volt 3 watt automotive bulb. Higher voltage will fry the bulb (so even though it says somewhere that you could test 24v, don't try it!). 6v will work and be dim. 12v is just right.

Works Great!
This is a handy little tool to have around if your working with wires and you need to know if they are getting current or not or if you're trying to do a radio install and you need to know which wire is hot and which is not. Great tool, recommend to anyone I know looking to do small electrical work
