Device works well with no buzz noise, but it completely killed the bass. Any suggestions on how to fix that?

Will this fix the pop i get when turning on and off?

Perhaps. One common reason for the "pop" noise is that the speakers are on the same power circuit as the receiver/head unit. If this is your configuration, this device may work to eliminate the pop, but it's hard to say for sure. I purchased this unit to remove the static from the sound I was getting in my car stereo speakers, and it worked great for that. Good luck.

can I use this to isolate my guitar pedals from ground loop noise?

I don't know, but it works really well to get rid of the static when I plug my iPod into the charger and the aux at the same time.
