145 PSI Explorer Scuba Diving Dive 2nd Stage Regulator Octopus Hookah, Hookah Dive Regulator

I got this for a non-diving purpose. It seems to be of sufficient quality for its intended use (which I HOPE and THINK isn't actual untethered SCUBA diving). It has a nice Korean hose and solidly attached fittings. The material is for the most part light weight. I would not trust my life or safety with it. There is a reason that "real" ones cost 20x more than this one.

I bought this for a "DIY" hookah setup. It breathed extremely well at "out of the box" at 120psi, and not much different than my $400 regulator. However, as the plan was to use this with a relatively small battery operated compressor, I wanted to see if I could get it to work at a lower pressure to reduce heat / stress on the compressor. By popping off the small cap opposite the hose inlet, and using a 5mm socket, I was able to adjust the spring tension, and got it to breathe very well at only 60psi. So I highly recommend this for a shallow diving hookah setup, and for the money, this can't be beat!

Took me a while to put this into service, but it's doing the job! I run a small dive service and had some other divers mention this one to me. I finally attached it to my flexline, to a tank on the dock, and it offers me up one more option for diving under boats. In fact, 2 days ago I used this setup to inspect the bottom of a crabbing boat. Somedays it's nice to not have a bunch of equipment hanging from your body, or the noise of a compressor traveling down the hose to annoy me the whole dive long. . I actually fit this into one of my FFM's.... an OTS Spectrum... and with a few dives now, I'm happy with it. Now... I'm only diving at most, 14ft deep, in 52 degree water, murky bay water at that. Time will tell how it handles these conditions. Perhaps I'll come back with an update down the road.

Works as advertised, but I wouldn't trust it. Maybe as a backup, but your primary regulator needs to be reliable and well built... You don't want to be underwater without a working regulator! I am using it on a very shallow hookah setup, no deeper than I can easily come up on a single breath.

This is an awesome little regulator at any price, but amazing at $25! I've had US Divers and SCUBA Pro before and this feels better. It likes the pressure of at least 110 psi, but still works down around 80, just less effortless to breathe. I'm running a Dewalt oil free compressor through a 5 micron filter and 100' of hose to it, and it works great.

Works great -- I just use it in my pool; nothing too deep, and it does the job.

I purchased this regulator as part of a DIY hookah rig that I use when I clean the bottom of my 40' cruising sailboat. My keel is 6' deep in the water, so my head is never more than about 7' under water. The regulator is fed through 50' of air hose from a "pancake" compressor that's rated at 2 SCF per minute at 90 PSI. I've found the mouthpiece to be comfortable for extended work sessions - I most recently spent about two hours in the water scraping and cleaning. A slight effort is needed to "draw" air in on the inhale, but I suspect that this is because I'm feeding in a low PSI from a too-small compressor. (The compressor will run up to 90 PSI max, but is probably feeding in more like 50 to 60 and runs constantly.) The materials and construction of this regulator feel adequate for light duty work, but I wouldn't trust my life to this item on any kind of serious dive. If and when it fails, I'm only 7' from the surface and do not have to stop to decompress. It works fine for my application and has a nice price, but it's not a rugged item.

Got this to decide if I enjoy diving enough to spend on a higher end long term regulator. Been using this regulator as the secondary second stage with a palantic din first and second stage. Took it on several dives in the last month since buying. Its been down to 60 ft and it works. Does what a $1000 regulator does. Cant tell what the long term reliability is but I wouldn't trust it and could afford to buy a new one at this price. Im likely getting a higher end set for the peace of mind but this regulator will do the job if you need a regulator to clean the boat or a one-time use.
