GREAT STUFF PRO Gaps & s 24 oz Insulating Foam Sealant, Orange

The Great Stuff Pro Gaps & Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant has been a reliable product for my home improvement projects. This 24 oz can provides a generous amount of foam, which is great for sealing gaps and cracks around the house. The orange color makes it easy to see where the foam has been applied, ensuring complete coverage. This is for use with an application gun I use it on a regular basis for insulation and or Fill gaps a couple of inches wide that I need filled and sealed . TIPS It expands quite a bit so don’t fill the gap all the way up or you will have to trim it down once it dries it sticks to Many surfaces but not plastic Do not get it on your hands because it takes days to get it off DO NOT USE ON THE GAPS AROUND DOORS AND WINDOW JAMBS. It expands with enough pressure to move the jamb and cause it to be too tight around the door and or window they make a completely different formula for doors and windows that does not expand with as much force

Have you ever used one of the standard cans of Great Stuff to fill some cracks and ended up with huge billowing hunks of it when you only wanted a small bead? Next, you find out that because it’s so difficult to control you emptied the can on one simple job. By now you have it on your hands, your clothes, and your phone rings. Yep. You’ll never buy that again. But wait. This really is Great Stuff. You just bought the wrong can. Get the gun ($25) and buy this. The gun stops and starts instantly, is minutely adjustable for perfect caulking. Seriously! It puts the foam right where you want it and only enough to do the job. This one can will equal 5 of 7 of the hardware store variety. Also, VERY IMPORTANT, don’t bother with the cleaning fluid and all that. I keep the can on the gun at all times. Even if the can runs out. I just rub the end of the nozzle when I'm finished. When I am ready to use it again, I just rub the nozzle tip with a utility knife and it takes right off. Shaking the can for a minute is the longest part of the process. I have on occasion left a can on for almost a year and it started up like I’d just put it down. Just make sure you keep a can on the gun and the foam inside the gun won't cure. It’s Great Stuff!!!

I have no idea if the product would have worked as intended as I was unable to get that far. The can sat inside overnight so it was well within the operable temperature range. After carefully reading the instructions and setting up for all the locations I was going to fill, I screwed the can on the gun, opened the valve, pointed the gun into the takeout cup I was going to use for the initial waste, and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. I opened the valve more and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. I took the can off and inspected it. There was a little foam at the valve. I screwed the can back on, this time hearing a very slight hiss. "Oh, good, it just wasn't on all the way last time," I thought. I thought wrong. Pulling the trigger again gave me nothing. I tried it upside down, right-side up, and sideways. No dice. I took the can off again and threaded it back on. I pulled the trigger again. Still nothing. I turned it upside down and pulled the trigger. Nothing. I turned it right-side up and pulled the trigger. Ah-ha! The foam is coming out. I filled the gun and the plastic tube on the end (per instructions) and released the trigger. It didn't *stop* coming. Oh, dear. I was pondering that when I noticed the real problem: The foam was spewing out all around the connection between the can and the gun. I managed to remove the can and toss it in a plastic grocery bag which stopped it flowing out but the damage was done. I didn't have a large container of acetone handy to dunk the gun into so I was unable to dissolve the mess before it set up. I now have a $34.95 gun destroyed by a $14.64 can of foam. Next time, I'll just get the one-time use spray cans and it won't be from Great Stuff.
