How is the seat secured? The one we have has a screw lock on each side to tighten to the bowl.

The seat is not that secure. It has a small plastic ring that goes into the bowl and the rest depends on luck. We bought another from a medical supply store much like the one you describe. with screw locks. This seat DOES NOT have screw locks.

Will this work for elongated and standard seats?

It does state that it will work for both standard and elongated seats.

Go onto your order on the Amazon app. Pick this item. Should give you two boxes on is review this order the second will be return this item. Pick that and follow instructions. This starts the process. Then you usually have the choice of returning it to a ups store and they ship it back. I found this got my quickest refund for a returned item. Or some designated return places by me it's CVS and I believe walgreens they'll have UPS return. Third choice involves keep clicking need more help button until you reach a human. Let them know you need a return label for UPS. Usually ups driver will bring the label with them the next business day and will put return label on and take return item away.

It doesn't have arms. But it elavatates seat, it helped me sit easier.
