I have2 15'' speakers and2 10' speakers as monitor passive not powered all are. can I connect this to model 12?

The model 12 does NOT have a built in amplifier. It is only a digital mixer/recorder. And I might add, a very nice one, IMHO. In order for you to use passive speakers, an amplifier must be connected between the model 12 and the speakers.

What are some of the best sd cards for this? i record directly to an sd and it seems to take like 30-45 seconds to save after i hit the stop button.

Personally I use SanDisk cards. However, Samsung, Lexar, and Sony also make very reliable brands. And, each of these companies make cards that load at different speeds. I have had no problems with loading speed on my Tascam Model 12 with a 64K or 128K 100 Mb per second cards.

has anyone used this with a Mac?

Yes. I have it set up to work in Logic Pro X.

Is this fully digital because it looks analog?

Its fully digital, meaning the signal is stored and manipulated as a digital stream. However all the outputs are converted to analog signal so you can connect it to speakers, amp etc. There is an optional connectivity to a computer avalable that is obviosly digital, as well as a midi output. A great device for the price.
