hey ex nail tech, estitition, & cosmo here💖 to actually answer your question. as far as your hang nails "skin tags" from dryness damage & picking, not actual skin tags on the skin i get you & btw NEVER tie dental floss around any growing appendage from your body thats just rediculous. a quick clip from some sanitized toenail clippers instead of a slow excruciating pull that takes days its common sense really. & now on to your actual concern! yes, any skin that is dead on or around your nail plate this will help deal with & turn them soft. for the hang nails which are both hanging pieces of nail & the little pieces of separated skin as you are inquiring about, i would highly suggest cuticle nippers! as that is a fellow condition that this tool would also help to resolve. take ahold of the hangnail directly seated at the begining closest to your finger, pull down & straight out towards your fingertip, not back or up what so ever. or clip witha pair of straight edged sanitized toenail clippers meant specifically for the hands only dont be interchanging clippers with your feet bc of the feet holding different types of permanent bacteria(yes, even after you wash them or take a bath bc you have no clue what microscopic particles live on your floor, in your shoes always, etc etc), we cant use the same clippers for hands & toes for safety. no one wants staph or an infection on their fingies. avoid certain hot sale or fire key terms like "professional" or "surgical grade" as these do not exist outside of a hospital, solid stainless steel will suffice constant 70% alcohol thats all you really need. hope this helps💖🤗
