I am looking for a good heavy bottom pan for making Carmel? Has anyone tried that using this pan?

I have not made Carmel. I would consider it has a heavy bottom. It cleans up easy if soaked. I use it mostly to cook steel oats.

Can this be used in the oven with the lid on? I would like to use it to roast garlic.
