My labels are 3" wide and 1.75" long; am I understanding it correctly that mine won't work because they are not at least 1.97" long?

Call Kenco Label at 1-800-865-3626. They should be able to help you. The question they are going to ask is the orientation of your label. 4 wide or 6 wide makes a big difference.

Will this handle 1" tall by 3" wide labels? What about 4" x 6" Labels

Although it fits labels up to 4", I've found this labeler to have difficulty with labels much larger than 3.75".
