This says "compatible with surface pro 4, surface book, surface studio". is this not compatible with any system that supports bluthtooth keyboards?

I am using a USB Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy Micro Adapter from Plugable Technologies on my PC running Windows 10. It works just fine. From what I gather, if you have Bluetooth 4.0, you should be good. However, every system is different and the amount of "massaging" to get this keyboard to work will probably vary greatly. But I think for best results: Bluetooth 4.0 + Windows 10 = no headaches. Also, on a "cool" note, I was able to pair this keyboard to my iPhone 6 Plus with no problems-works great for any typing situation on my smartphone: email, text messages, internet search, etc. Of course, it IS a Microsoft keyboard meant for Windows, so there are no handy iOS shortcuts.

Is this designed to be backward-compatible with Bluetooth 3?

Is the keyboard back lit?

It should be back lit at least for $130?

This is keyboard would work with Linux? (Ubuntu 16.04)

I am using it with Ubuntu Gnome 17.04 and it works great. It doesn't work before grub boots into gnome though (since BT is not enabled at BIOS obviously), but other than that, all the function keys work, volume, lock, etc.
