A low cost and reliable way to monitor your compost. I has a color coded temperature scale so you can tell at a glance if the pile is cold or if it's working. I have been turning the pile when it drops from warm to cold or if it needs moisture and it seems to work very well. The thermometer eliminates a lot of guess work which speeds up my composting and who dose not need more compost and faster? It.s use is pretty strait forward and dosnt really need instructions although some are provided. You can just leave it inserted in the pile for quick reference. seems well made, time will tell.
