One of my standard gifts for a 2 year old's birthday.

We've had this book since my son was almost a year old and he'll be two in less than a month. I bought this book used from Amazon for less than $5, and I took it to work with me and had a co-worker help me translate everything into Spanish and I wrote it in sharpie underneath the English words. This is what my son brings me when I say pick out a book. He absolutely loves it. Though it's now in 3 different parts/pieces (books are not meant to be stomped on and rolled on and folded over), we look at it almost every day. We look at the pictures and I ask him to find something and he points to it and then we say it together in English and in Spanish. He has his favorite pages of course, but he can identify almost everything in the book, in both English and Spanish. I plan on buying this book again, along with it's friends "First 100 Animals" and the others. It's big and sturdy and the pages are easy for little hands to turn. The pictures are bright and colorful and close up. One of the best things about this book is that the pictures are real items, not drawings of things. With other books of similar type, I see my son trying to figure out the difference between a drawing of an item and a picture of the same item, and I think that the pictures create a clearer more realistic 'definition' in his mind. I would buy this book again and again. By adding the Spanish translations to it, I found a way to take something my son really liked and turn it into a fun and creative learning tool for both of us.

This book is educational if you want your baby to know basic vocabulary. An absolute must have book for your baby. My go to if a friend has a baby shower. All 5 of my kids enjoyed pointing to the pictures when asking what something is (about 9-12 months) and then pointing to the correct picture when asked where something is (12-18 months) my older 4 kids wore our first book out, so naturally, I bought my current baby a brand new one, and he agrees with his siblings!!

This book is huge! It's perfect for flipping through the pages because it's filled with vibrant photos and colors. My kids are obsessed! I like that the pages are sturdy and that each page has so many photos that keep their little eyes entertained for more than 5 minutes.

This book has a vibrant colors, and pictures. My son really likes looking at the pictures. The book is easy to carry, and has a thick hard pages, so it cannot be easily torn by babies. This book is supposed to be for a first 100 words for babies. They have words like tractor, motorcycle, television, which I think should not be in a list of first 100 words. I think the first 100 words should be more easy to pronounce by baby and should be related to babies.

Best book for language acquisition! Big pictures, colorful and durable paperboard pages. I used with my own kids I always give for shower gifts.

This is a good book to have for little toddlers to learn their first word. I used this book for both of my kids. Very useful and worth the buy.
