What does optional fs3x footswitch do with this pedal?

The switch allows you to start/end the drum pattern. Stop playing as in a break in music, switch to different segments, play the fills, and change the tempo. In my opinion it is a must have.

Would you recommend using this for live performances?

Once you master it yes. I have not had the time to mess with it like I need to. It really seems good.

Does this work wiyh JamManager?

No. I mean I think what you mean is can you use JamManager to store stuff created on SDRUM or load stuff on to SDRUm from JamManager? That would be great. In fact, a software editor/manager is one of the first things I've asked Digitech about for the SDRUM.
