Yes, multimeter is ac or dc, and also has a continuity function which is very helpful, when checking 12 volt circuits

Does it do dc amperage?

No it dosnt i found that out the hard way. I found one from southwire that does works great

I work in the hvac field and would need to check capacitance. Would it make sense to purchase this?
