'Valta' ('Power') is a visual experience filled with vivid imaginary; every song resembles a short movie. Musical styles vary from Nu Orleans street baroque to Balkan traffi c jams, limping through odd-time kebop and creepy circus acts all the way to wall-crumbling oppression metal, fi nally leaving the exhausted listener intoxicated by snake vapors, still mesmerized by Zen-like harmony crystallized in rhytmically harnessed water droplets. The unique Alamaailman Vasarat sound can be recognized right from the beginning of the album, but compared to earlier releases 'Valta' introduces a darker, thicker, even more energetic and purer side to the band, expanding the aural palette further than ever before. VALTA does not dictate, but it does mesmerize, making it diffi cult for the listener leave the album halfway. 'Valta' must be handled without precautions; the 'Valta' dosage prescribed by the band is like this - eat it raw and whole, straight under the skin, no dilution.

One of the most interesting bands out there
This band is fantastic. This one is more klezmer-influenced than Huuro Kolkko so it kinda reminds me of some of the stuff on John Zorn's Tzadik label - I get a little bit of Beirut from this too. Not as Zappa/MOI reminiscent as Huuro Kolkko.

Attention pepites
Très bon groupe, atypique aux influences aussi larges que le métal la musique des balcans ou celle du moyen orient Pas de chant mais des arrangements instrumentaux riches et surtout une utilisation du violoncelle très étonnante.A écouter.

Entre fanfare boostée au métal et jazz des balkans, un mélange (d)étonnant et hautement énergique. Gros son, bien énergique, tout en gardant une musicalité et une inventivité au top. Aussi bon pour vous faire voyager que pour se réveiller le matin.
